I've been a member for a few months now. I mainly use the pool. Here is what I've noticed: lifeguards do not ensure safety of kids. There was a kid playing with a plastic bag in the pool (putting it on their head, filling it with water in the pool, swimming around with it) and not 1, but 2 lifeguards allowed it. That is extremely dangerous. I was a lifeguard for years and would have never allowed that. Part of this is on the parents, but there is also responsibility on the lifeguards. lifeguards do not enforce rules. There are children who come into the lap lanes often while other people are swimming in them. This is dangerous because kids can get stuck under lane lines or get caught in deep water if they wander without being good swimmers. -suit spinner in women's locker room is ALWAYS broken. I don't think I've ever been able to use it . water temperature in the showers is always hot. No cold, no warm. -wr were told the outdoor pools would be done in November 2023 but it's now January and they are not complete. Most people are willing to circle swim if you ask, but others just hog the lane and don't let you pass. I've swam at several pools in the past 10 years. All have had signs for slow, medium, and fast lanes with lane etiquette tips like circle swimming. There's none of that here. schedule online and on their physical schedule is wrong. We showed up to lap swim when there were supposed to be 2 lanes. Lifeguard said the schedule was wrong on the hand out but correct on the website. Said others had come in to lap swim too before us. Why not make a sign at the front of the pool? Send an email alert to members? Such a waste of time.
I do like the pool technically has 2 pools. Can't wait for the other one to open so that I can swim without being interrupted by other swimmers and children.
I hope that the managers of this gym take this feedback and actually change things. It's nice to have this in the neighborhood but it has to be safe to use for everyone for everyone to enjoy it. I'll change my rating of the review when...
Read moreThis Review is for Samena Preschool and Prek. Samena Preschool is a hidden gem. The program Director Rebecca is Wonderful. The teachers are so talented and have a passion for teaching. They go above and beyond to teach your kids everything they need to know to prepare for kindergarten. The class sizes are small so the teachers have time to work with your child and help them succeed, socially and academically . The Pre K teacher, Mrs Chris works after hours to create exciting lesson plans and she’s a genius at solving problems in the classroom whether it’s a plan for the entire class or something thats specific to one child, which takes an immense amount of dedication and time. Because of her hard work everything is organized and runs very smoothly.
The tuition is very affordable. Cheaper than most! Not to mention your child will know how to swim by spring time. Part of the curriculum is swim lessons! My son was terrified of water until he started samena, and yes I did send him to swim lessons at other facilities prior, it’s just not the same as the experience of being in the water every week. The culture of the school is very positive and Warm. Everyone is lovely, I’m an expert on this topic as we’ve experienced some wonderful preschools and some not so nice ones. This...
Read moreI enrolled my child in the swim team hoping for a positive experience, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected. This club force you to have club membership if you want your kid to join the swim team and the membership cost is very high. Due to an unexpected cold spell, the pool temperature was far too cold for my child to feel comfortable swimming. My child tried, but ultimately couldn’t continue, which was disappointing considering we had been looking forward to the program.
What made the situation worse was the club’s refusal to offer any kind of refund or accommodation. Despite explaining the circumstances and how the weather made it unsafe and unpleasant for my child to participate, they insisted on keeping the payment.
I understand that weather is out of anyone’s control, but it’s frustrating that the swim club couldn’t show any flexibility or empathy in this situation. As a parent, my priority is my child’s safety and comfort, and it’s disappointing that the club didn’t consider those factors or offer any resolution.
I hope the club reconsiders its policy in these situations, as customer satisfaction and well-being should be a priority. I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this program to others given...
