Belmar's Natural Beach Area — Attraction in Belmar

This is a lovely area on the north end of the Belmar beach. It's a great place to sit and hang out and watch the boats pass through the channel. It's also a lovely spot to watch the wildlife. We've had wanders through here and found some cool birds, both on the ground and hovering above. They also have a sign on two telling you about the plants in the area. Bird beach. Don't get too close to the dune sanctuary because they're endangered birds nesting in season. Cool beach, a lot of mussels though & usually smells fishy, not ideal for laying out if that's your thing. Plus there's no lifeguards & you can't swim there because they'll run over from the next beach & whistle you out. The beach is usually pretty clean and the watwr can be very clear and beautiful depending on the weather. I have dedinetly been able to see small fish swimming on the sand at least 6 feet deep. I would guess one could do underwater photis in the area. Fishing in the inlet is ok.
