The Shop-Classic Barber & Shave Parlor — Attraction in Benton

My six year old son is non-verbal and dual diagnosed with Down syndrome and autism. DS/AS kiddos are sensory driven by touch, temperature, sounds, etc. Haircuts have been traumatizing for my son in the past until we found this shop! We’ve been unwelcome since other shops.

The gentleman sat on the floor with my son, took breaks, allowed my little guy to acclimate to the sights, smells, sounds, of their shop.

I was blow away by the kindness, empathy, and professionalism. For the first time I did not feel judged or a burden as a mom/dad trying to get our sons hair cut.

I also got my hair cut on a whim and it was excellent. If you have a kiddo with any type of special need…this is your place! This place is also a relaxing, comfortable, enjoyable place to grab a cut.

It takes a special person to do what the gentleman did for my son. Highly recommended!

Been going to the shop for a while now and each time I walk out feeling confident and looking sharp. I go to Shay and each cut he gives me is the best I've had. I havent been cut by the other barbers but seeing their work leave the shop its clear they are all exceptional at what they do. The Shop has a really welcoming environment with enjoyable banter and though it may appear at first glance to be more adult cut oriented, there have been several kids come through and all of the barbers have been exceedingly competent in their craft while keeping the kids calm and making it a fun experience for them. The only place that my husband likes to get our sons haircuts at, they are all great, but we love Adam- he spends so much time getting their hair perfect! Asked to update... still love, highly recommend, ok Another update for 5-2023 and all these guys are awesome (with the BEST style, too) Adam is still our guy, but all the barbers, from just observing, have a "style" so call or take them picture of what you're wanting and these guys (all of whom are kind and super chill) would most likely help you choose which barber to book with.
