I love the concept behind the space, however it seems only the far south end of the building is open or has open businesses - at least during the Saturday we went. There's four food trucks stationed outside the building and some more sit down restaurants/bars and a food court type area inside the building. Not knowing where to start, we made way into the marketplace through the doors in the middle of the building. The north side of the building was mainly closed or had closed businesses so we went to the south side. We walked right into "The Holler" restaurant/bar/cafe. The restaurant was really awesome, however, it didn't seem fit for us as we had 4 small children. When you go beyond "The Holler", you'll find the food court area where there's 3 restaurant booths; one specialized cheese shop; a little shop area for cute knick knacks; and a gelato ice cream stand. The area in the middle is filled with big and long community table benches to sit down. We got a few dishes from Dough Zone and the Filipino restaurant. The food and drinks we got were all delicious. Overall, the vision behind 8th St. Marketplace is great for young adults and adults to go and hang out. However, this place is not catered for families or small kids. It's still enjoyable, but there's not much for the kiddos...
Read moreA great venue to get food and have a good time. The building is an old chicken coop that’s was remodeled into several restaurants and shops. Each vendor is unique and provides quality for your dollar. The Holler is my favorite for a quick burger and you can watch people play shuffleboard while you eat. Plus their filtered water machine makes the water taste really freakin good. There is a chocolatier on the west facade of the building and good lawd her chocolates are amazing. I haven’t tried the rest of the food on the south side of the building but from my experiences so far I bet it’s just as amazing. Another plus is the location being easy to access and there seems to be a lot of new stuff popping up around it like an outdoor tent gallery (not sure what for but probably a traveling exhibit?) within walking distance. Family friendly, great food, unique building concept, and just overall a COOL place! BEST WATER IN...
Read moreWhat a fun and unique experience! The feng shui is just right. From the classy bar next to the shuffle board over to the food trailer park, this dining and imbibing mecca has all the nooks and crannies you need for any size party. The good options are diverse and tasty across the board. Speaking of boards, the cheese boards are wild! Pop in for a beer and/or a quick sandwich or get there for coffee and breakfast, work through the morning in the atrium, enjoy lunch outside with a friend, go get an afternoon cocktail while finishing up work, grab a snack before shufflin', then finally proceed to dinner and drinks. In other words, you...
