Really wish I would have read the reviews before I took my items in to sell. The customer service at the Rogers location was horrible with the exception of the last woman to help me. I told the woman helping me check my items in, which I assumed was the manager, that it was my first time doing this so did not know how it worked. When I first came in I asked the people sorting clothes where I take my items to sell. I was told over to that counter where it says. I looked for a sign stating that and only found the sign that states what items are taken and how they need to be brought in which is the same sign outside the front door... If there was a sign saying “turn in items here“ I didn’t see it and maybe it should be more obvious if your workers don’t want to be asked. When I came back to pick up my items I went to the same counter that I had dropped them off at and no one was there. I went to the people sorting clothes and told them I had gotten the text that my buy was ready. I was told that I needed to go to the register over there. So I went back and stood at the counter I dropped my items off originally. I’ll point out this counter has a computer at it and for all I know this is a register. I was told I needed to go to the REGISTER around the corner. I had already told her this was my first time doing this and I feel like the direction could have been much better. I go and stand in line. I was helped by a woman and I wish I knew her name because she was wonderful. I feel bad for her because I was upset after seeing the way they threw (quite literally) my items into the box I brought them in and I made a comment “wow they sure don’t put them back the way they require them to be brought in”. For a place that requires items be brought in folded or neatly laid flat in the box, they do not care how your items are returned to you. The lady that brought my boxes to me of unaccepted items apologized because my sons clothes were falling on the floor as she carried the box to the counter. Now I will point out one box had a handful of items (neatly laid flat) that didn’t fit in the box. They accepted a stack that exceeded what didn’t fit in the box when I brought it in. She was very polite and offered me a plastic bag to put the items in and filled it for me. Thank you. The amount of clothes piled on top of my box filled one of their large plastic bags! She even assisted me in carrying the 2nd box out to my car. I don’t know who the manager is at this location but maybe this woman should be the manager! I’ve seen several bad reviews stating poor customer service and even the way the manager Loretta responds to the reviews is rude. No response is necessary, please don’t waste your time. I will not return to this location or any other location this company has. I will never again buy or sell items to or from this company. It’s pathetic that this was my first experience! I wish I could have given a better rating because the price was great for the small amount of items that were accepted. But in a world of so many options first impressions...
Read moreSo normally I'm purchasing items when I go into Rogers, AR's Once Upon A Child. I usually have a great experience and everyone is very nice. Today though I decided to sell some items. Two of the staff members were very rude. I had clothing and an activity mat. They didn't take most of my clothing and didn't want the activity mat. I told them only 1 of the toys didn't sing anymore on the activity mat. The staff told me they wouldn't purchase the entire activity mat because of the one toy. I explained the toys were sold separately and I could just remove the 1 or all the toys. The staff said this wasn't a retail store so they wouldn't purchase the activity mat if it was missing any toys. I looked over at the tummy time toys and noticed one of the pillows was missing all of its toys... I had the same tummy time pillow/toys so I know they are sold together. Not too far away was the same pillow with all its toys on it (rude and hypocritical). I asked another staff member why they didn't want most of the clothes. The two staff members rudely broadcast the clothes had stains. I hadn't been addressing these staff members. I was addressing the one at the other counter in front of me. Now I'm not denying that SOME of the clothes had stains but the one I happened to lift up and show the staff member I was addressing DIDN'T have stains. This staff member politely let me know that they had an abundance of that size and just couldn't take anymore. I thanked her for my payment ($7 and some change) and left. I will probably not return to this store and just continue donating my baby's...
Read moreSelling here can be an interesting experience. I recently brought in items and one thing that bothered me was that they took 1 item that was part of a 3 piece set...now I have footed pants and a hat in preemie size but no onesie, my mistake, I should have looked through the bag before leaving. Although I'd placed those 3 items together, it should have been easy to identify that they went together. Another issue I have with the items they're selling in the store, there are so many very faded, worn, and even mildew stained clothing items....but they find "stained" items that my baby never even had a chance to wear? How about, we already have 3 of these onesies in stock and don't need any more? Quit using stained as your "go to" for not accepting an item. What brought me in was a coupon, the cashier took it and seemed irritated. Later upon looking at my receipt the coupon wasn't used. The cashier also seemed agitated that I wanted to use the canvas bag I'd brought in, instead of their plastic bags, again, customer's choice... she walked off as soon as the transaction was complete and left me to place my newly purchased items into the bag alone, is this standard protocol? To the cashiers, you work in a family store, if you hate your job, maybe try a place where you aren't client facing because eventually you will lose customers. Hospitality is key when working with the public. I hadn't been here in probably a year and a half, due to the pandemic. I can say with confidence that that was my last visit. To the owner, I'd say some further training could be...
