We really appreciate the Village Inn in Fayetteville, AR, for having free Bingo with nice prizes every Monday from 5p-7p. This week I won a card for a free entree. My hubby and I almost always win something we like. The Bingo caller has a great sense of humor, which makes it even more fun. We also really appreciate a lot that every Tuesday from 6p-8p we enjoy a free painting gathering led by a professional artist who is very kind and patient. He encourages self expression with a very positive attitude for everyone regardless of their artistic abilities. Village Inn pays for all the supplies, including the canvas, brushes, and paint, and we get to take our proud masterpieces home. The wait service is alway excellent, provided by friendly folks who really hustle, without causing us to feel hurried. And the food is always very yummy, with excellent quality, quantity and presentation. All at a very affordable cost, which is important to us older, set income folks, and appreciated alot by folks with kids, and the college kids, who are also on a restricted budget. It's wonderful to have a place where everyone is welcomed equally, regardless of all the artificial divisions some try to inflict on our society. Thank you, Village Inn folks. Your manager, Carol, has made some excellent choices in the many years my family has made this our family gathering place. Thanks, Carol, for your...
Read moreThe only reason they get a two instead of one star is because the pie is amazing. My husband I went there to get a pie for my Dad's birthday. We walked in around lunch time and were not greeted by the hostess that was standing there. In fact, the entire time there, no one greeted us. We waited our turn in line, where we were helped by a woman behind the counter. She never smiled or greeted us, she just stared at us until I told her what I needed. She grabbed the pie out of the display case, cracks off some crust and says, "whoops." She then puts the cracked pie in a box for me. I'm thinking that it may not be that bad. Crust can flake off. But her whole demeanor the the entirety of my stay was unwelcoming and rude. So, I went in there to, at the very least, get a better pie. The woman who helped me still did not greet me when I walked in with my broken pie. She just stared at me again. Some other server came up to me to ask the problem. She said she would grab me another pie. Awesome, no problems. Mind you, the other one is still staring at me. She brings out 3 pies and says, "here, pick one." Alright, I'll forgive the attitude. I pick one, box it myself, and start out the door when I hear the woman who had just brought the pies for me say to the first one, "Don't worry, sometimes they're just hard to please." I won't...
Read moreI ordered the green chile burrito with a cup of "green chile" sauce, which doesn't have any green chiles in it at all. The burrito was good sized but the sauce which is poured over it was only a (fluid) cup which is half the sauce needed to eat this otherwise very dry burrito. This quantity of sauce only lightly covers the burrito. I asked for another cup of the sauce to finish the burrito, which cost an additional $4.10, and is exceptionally expensive for vegetable oil with some spices in it. The burrito at $12.50+$4.10 for another cup of sauce is almost $17 which is crazy expensive for a mediocre burrito that is not green chile at all. I believe Village Inn intentionally serves a small quantity of sauce to vastly increase their profit margin on this burrito.
I spoke with a Village Inn director who said the corporate office intentionally determines this quantity of sauce to lightly cover the burrito which is what I can expect going forward. I told him I wouldn't be back. He made it very clear he didn't care in any way that Village Inn lost my business.
I ask that you join me in boycotting Village Inn's arrogant attitude toward their customers when you experience a...
