Pros: Open 24/7 all year round, with the exception of a 1-week annual renovation period. During this time, usual membership applies and members must pay for a renovation fees (happens twice a year). The gym boasts a friendly community atmosphere, ensuring a welcoming experience. Gym is clean overall, with well-maintained exercise areas, showers, and lavatories. For equipment, the gym provides basic workout equipments and accessories, catering to general fitness needs.
Cons: The gym has a disproportionate amount of cardio equipment compared to strength training options. Recently, they reduced their power racks from 3 to 2, resulting in often a 30-minute wait time. Space for deadlifting and hip thrust setups is limited, with essentially only one area available. A notable absence is vertical crunch equipment or specific abs workout gear. Additionally, there is no free parking on-site, which can be inconvenient if you live far away. The gym's app often displays inaccurate occupancy information; it shows 6-8 people when in reality, the number is closer to 25. Lastly, the monthly membership fee ranges from $70 to $90, which is significantly higher than the nearby the bigger gyms in the area, where fees range from $20 to $30. There are two indoor climbing with gym area that charge ~80 monthly...
Read moreThese guys do the best they can with what they have and they have a decent set of gear. I’ve had a great experience being a part timer here, and I think it’s a very clean, very sane environment to be in. That’s saying a lot because the Bay Area is neither of those! But as for the gym, good location, very safe area to come to at night, great bathrooms and a shower that I never have tried but my friend said it was fine!
I personally recommend going in the night or evening hours for many reasons, one of them being the gym is way less busy, the trainers are not working with clients and taking up machines and space, and you can take your time with your workout. The only thing I will say is that this gym is not for everyone. For the more intense minded people it maybe a bit anemic but for the average habitual gym goer, then this is absolutely all you will ever need. The only real big let downs are there are no actual amenities of any kind - but it’s not a health spa after all. Finally the staff I have interacted with have mostly...
Read moreI've been to Anytime fitness locations up and down the west coast and this has been the first one that I didn't like.
To find a place to stretch, I had to wedge myself in between two machines. There is a sign outside the stretching studio that says no one is allowed in if a class is in session. There was a class in session with an instructor and three students and 85% of the floor space was unused.
The gym is super tiny with limited equipment and a very cramped crowded feeling. There were 3 Trainers training guests at all times cramping up all of the spaces further. I had to step in between and around and over people in order to get to the dumbbells and machines. One woman was blocking the entire hallway to the rear/emergency exit while she stretched there with an iPad phone and a laptop all set up.
Alameda and Pacifica and Sausalito are incredible locations. This one is the...
