Halal Food & Meat Market — Attraction in Berkeley

I am a great supporter of small businesses. I love this ethnic market. Great & personable. It is well located in the heart of Berkeley & close to the freeway 80. There are some things that I can usually only find in this market.

Specialties:

Olives, Turkish Honey with 10 different kinds of nuts ( good for an oat meal), organic raw honey from Brazil, lentils, frozen kebabs and breads, variety of yogurts & Cheese, great prices on olive oil, meat counter offers great prices on meat & so much more. Meat is fresh, organic and clean. Meat Counter does not smell at all. It is a small but very clean store with variety. Not a lot of produce but what they had looked good and prices were nice. They should start carrying fresh produce.

This spot is my go to for halal meat. I have seen some questionable claims of halal in the Bay Area meat market but I have confidence in this store. I only wish they had hot links and beef bacon!
