On Tuesday, I go to the South Berkeley Farmers Market. I can't stay inside all the time, and this way I get some air and get some delicous food. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in quality. It's supposedly the oldest market in Berkeley. It's open from just 2:00 to 6:30 pm, and I hear it's a madhouse in the afternoon. I go after work (around 5:15ish), and it's much calmer then--though they sometimes sell out. The other week, I went home without any strawberries or avocados. But this week I scored some of both--and, boy, are they just YUM! One of the avocados I bought on Tuesday was ready, and when I cut it open, I was in awe at its pristine beauty. It was just what an avocado should be! And the strawberries I got are some of the best I've ever had. I'll be back next Tuesday, and it's good to have something...

Be warned that if it is raining they will not show up. I learned this the hard way. I have never been disappointed in the produce from any of the vendors.
