i had come in to get my snakebites (two lip piercings) done around last week. i initially scheduled with Andy, and was really pleased with the placement, how he had done the piercing, and so on. he was really professional, kind, and helpful.
however, i came back on Tuesday due to needing both my bars upsized, as the flat backs in my lip were starting to embed. i started by calling (in a bit of a panic) and Dan had said it would be best to come in. i left work early and decided to drive out, as i did not want to risk my piercings embedding any further. once i came into the shop, Dan had told me he would look at them, but would not change them since he was not doing oral piercings at the moment. i understand preferring not to do certain piercings for a period of time, but i was really in need of just getting my bars upsized and calling it a day.
after Dan further looked at them, he decided on changing them, which i was thankful for. i had felt like i was already putting him far out of his way and was met with a slightly condescending tone. i must note there were a couple things i did not follow with (and i appreciated him informing me of them) but there were other things that i felt he met with a rude attitude. he had also charged me $10 to change them, and i had tipped him as well since i felt bad for making him go through the hassle.
i woke up the next day and noticed the one side of my lip was yet again starting to embed. after contemplating, i decided to safely remove the piercings. i discovered Dan had put TWO different sized bars in my lip...this is NOT helpful when BOTH piercings sites are swollen. i am not an expert piercer by any means, but i did not feel this was correct or the proper way to handle this. both bars should have ultimately been upsized (to the same size), and i feel like i should not have been met with the energy i had received.
i know that i could have come back to have the other changed, but i really did not want to drive yet another half hour out, and also keep switching bars in and out of a piercing that was still very much healing. this is a piercing i wanted for a very long time, and i am disappointed with the outcome. i know there isn't really anything that can be done now as i decided to give up on them quickly, but, i would be wary if you are looking to come here for an oral piercing. make sure the bars are going to be long enough to accomodate for swelling, as well! it is hard to tell how much one person from the next is going to swell, but it is imperative that there is room for everything to heal.
i would like to again thank Andy for his professionalism and his kindness when getting this done. the atmosphere of the parlor overall is nice, clean, and professional. however, i did not feel comfortable coming back with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been meaning to leave a review for quite some time but I kept forgetting to. I've been coming here for about a year and some change now and I couldn't recommend this place more! The piercings are a tad pricey but it's worth the money for a good quality piercing. I always get mine done by Andy and he does a great job everytime, like my rook he did 2 days ago. I've only had one piercing done incorrectly and he was very sweet and re-pierced it for me free of charge. He's super kind, patient, respectful, and he's very good at his job. (Not all the piercings in this photo were done at this studio. Also please ignore the small bump on my industrial.) Updating my review about a year later, this studio still provides great piercings but as of lately I've been disappointed with the customer service I have received. Firstly, anytime you go there it's always busy even if you schedule ahead of time you still have to wait anywhere from 20 mins to almost an hour. Secondly, the piercing sessions are rushed when I used to come here they would be be quick as well but i'd at least be able to discuss the piercing if I had any questions and I also always got a card detailing my jewerly size. The last time I came here I did not get a card detailing my measurements and it's quite frustrating as someone who orders their own jewerly I only have a rough guess of what the piercing size is. And when I recently went to change the piercing out the jewerly was so tight I couldn't get it back in. Lastly, I feel like the prices have gone up i used to spend about $60 per piercing which is still expensive but they were done well so I didn't care. Now they're anywhere from $65-$75 and although I quite like this shop I cannot afford to drop almost 100 dollars per piercing so I might have to start looking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust stopped into Obsidian w some initial questions regarding sitting for a piercing appointment and wow this shop is beyond stellar & I remain most impressed by the helpful, courteous & kind attention in consultation around all of my questions. Kayla and Colin couldn't have been more welcoming in my first time walking in, and each immediately presented as not only knowing exactly what they're doing and saying but really being generous & attentive in their desire to pair people with great artwork and an even better experience in visiting the shop. They told me exactly what I needed to know & I left my visit completely confident in my next steps to have my ears pierced
I'm inclined to leave this review, frankly due to something I overheard being said to another client that immediately had me feeling optimistic .... in explaining aftercare & followup to a small group; so much attention was given to a detailed & concise explanation, that I instantly felt comfortable asking questions of my own to another shop associate who answered all of them concisely & accurately.
To me; that speaks loud volumes of the character & professionalism of every artist on the team and I can't wait to have some artwork installed soon as I can. Also, killer tattoo books & vibes everywhere so I'm sure the inkwork is also world-class!
Absolutely worth a stop in & if you're looking to have any work done here do it. 10/10 very much recommended and I haven't even sat in the...
