So... I always like unique experiences. This was definitely one of them and had I been more prepared for what I was going to experience I would have stayed longer. When we got out of the van, we were not 30 seconds into it and we were solicited by a nice man that smelled of marijuana to allow him to give us a tour of the park. I kindly said we were going to do a self guided tour and after a few more declines we moved on. BUT.... we unknowingly entered another mans “turf” and were solicited by a second man who was actually even nicer than the first guy and told us about a few things but I had to explain to him that we would rather guide ourselves around the park and after bidding him a nice day a few times we moved on to what was another mans turf. This time, being approached from behind us as we were walking and asking to be excused as he walked around us and as soon as we spoke the common opener” Have you ever been to the park before?” Was utilized for the third time in not less than 5 minutes. After kindly declining tour guide services for the 3rd time we planned our exit from the area. I did not feel like I was in danger, I suppose they were offering a service and not just a hand out, had I not had our children with us I probably would have taken him up on the offer to guide us around the block. It did make for an interesting afternoon that I probably will...

I'm a commercial plumber for C&M Plumbing and I took those pictures the ones on August 9th 2022, but the one's on the outside in the parking lot and on the stairs was more recent down at the AG Gaston Hotel downtown Birmingham Alabama. They have transitioned that into a beautiful place thanks to AG Gaston inc., and a few other contractors including the company I work for with the owner/ best friend in the world Chuck Morgan, and all the great guy AG's got in the field that are heavy hitters like Floyd, Sam, and my homie Jackie AKA/Boosy, a super name Dave and the main Big Guy that made it all happen and put the final touches to bring it to a finished project for turning back over to the City of Birmingham The most Awesome Contractor and Superintendent for AG Gaston Big Josh and I don't put folks last names out there for a reason all except for me and my BossMan Chuckie. God Bless you guys and keep up the good work...

This is an historical review of some extremely important events in local-- and American-- history. It is not overly dramatic or anything like that, but it is a straight-forward, clear description of events and people. Some folks make you proud-- Fred Shuttlesworth is an example; others, like the infamous Bull Connor, make you gasp with wonder at what people can do to each other. An unintended "bonus": there are several older gentlemen (who all, oddly enough, seem to be named Walter) are eager to tell you the story they know about what it was all really like back in those times. Not everything you'll hear is accurate, but it is all very sincere, it is mostly accurate, and it is highly personal. One "Walter" told us about his grandfather having lived in that neighborhood, and his father as well. Walter had lived in the neighborhood his...

It was one of the places I needed to visit while in Birmingham. This was such a great experience to live. The staff are so sweet and eager to give you any information you want. I'm so glad I was able to squeeze this in while here for a work event that I had. I encourage anyone to go if you have the time. I just wish I could have visited the 16th Street church where the bombing happened. I will say there are limited hours when the mission and church are open, so make sure you check the times.

This museum is very well done. I found it very informative, and there were a lot of exhibits. The visuals of “separate but equal” were very thought provoking. Fair warning, we got there first thing in the morning when it opened thinking we would beat the crowds. However, there were 5 tour groups that were already there and waiting, and we had to wait about 30 minutes to go into the museum. So going a little later might be better.
