This is a wonderful shop and the owners are on a great mission to keep people informed about black history and history in Birmingham. They are such friendly and personable individuals. I went in with my sister who had visited the store the day before and my experience was everything my sister said it would be and more. I got shirts and was able to pick a book. They make you feel like part of their family and fellow customers struck up conversations with each other also as that was the type of vibe this store provides. Such a cute and awesome t shirt store! The shirts are such a bargain along with the books they had. The owners are so sweet and giving. Me and my sister came in to look around, and grabbed 3 shirts and headed to pay. Because of the generous and kind owners, we left with 3 shirts, 2 educational books, and 2 big bottles of Gatorade for no extra charge. Al & Peggy are some of the most genuine and heartfelt people you’ll ever meet. I live on the road and meet a lot of people and can say that they’re some of the most welcoming people I’ve come across. They made me feel like I was at home - even letting me sit at the counter to eat some food I brought in. I ended up staying for 2 hours just to chat about life.
