Urban Cookhouse — Restaurant in Birmingham

Its a nice place and the food is OK...but to be an "upscale" eating establishment, its not the best....they dropped my husband's plate in front of us, then said they would remake his meal and forgot about it...we had to go back up there and find out why we haven't been served his meal yet...they admitted to forgetting. Also noticed how they carry multiple food dishes at once in an unsanitary manner...ex..plates of food on top of other plates of food or the food touching servers clothes while being carried. They did come back to our table and refund his meal and give us free brownies for the mix...

This was my first experience at Urban Cookhouse. I found the menu to be fairly diverse and well-described. I usually order something "safe" , like a club sandwich, at unfamiliar places; but there was no such offering. That forced me to branch out to a little more risky territory, and I'm glad it did! The pimento cheese BLT was yummy! It has quite a kick, in the pimento cheese, and that was refreshing. The dining room was clean and the staff was friendly. One employee even helped our party find the best little coffee shop nearby, so we could follow up our delicious...

Total random pic while we were walking around downtown Baltimore. Ended up being a great selection. Grab a menu find your selection and order at the register. They have plenty of items to choose from and many selections are vegetarian/vegan. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was just absolutely fantastic. Also, the side of macaroni and cheese was some of the best I've ever had .

Services really quick here and the staff are definitely friendly. The place gets crowded but despite being a high volume restaurant people move in and out quickly and...
