I recently had a deeply frustrating experience with HOM Furniture that I feel compelled to share. After waiting for over a month for the delivery of my new sectional, it was unwrapped to find that several cushions were missing. This was incredibly disappointing, as I expected to receive the entire sectional upon deliveryā¦
When I reached out to the customer service center in hopes of resolving the issue, I was initially told I had everything I needed, and my concerns were dismissed. I ended up just emailing Stephanie who is the original salesperson who helped me purchase the sectional at the Bloomington showroom. She was able to confirm that the cushions were indeed missing.
What followed was a lengthy wait for updates on when I could expect the replacement cushions. Unfortunately, I found myself constantly needing to follow up for any sort of update or clarity regarding the situation. This took weeks. When I finally got a response from Jessica at the customer service center, I was told it would take several months for the cushions to arrive since they were coming from out of the countryāwithout any apology or any acknowledgement of the inconvenience this would cause me to have to live with an incomplete couch. The tone of the response felt dismissive and somewhat annoyed as if I should just accept the extremely long wait, which only added to my dissatisfaction.
To make matters worse, I was offered the option to "borrow" floor model cushions while I waited. The customer service center promised me that these would be cleaned before I picked them up because āwe wouldnāt send you home with dirty cushionsā. I was then told that Chad, the manager of this location, would be reaching out to coordinate pickup with me. I said thatās fine and that he was free to call or email me. This was on a Wednesday, and on Monday of the following week I again had to reach out myself. When I finally connected with Chad to coordinate, I was informed that the cushions wouldn't be cleaned at allādespite being told otherwise, because the cushions on the model were ābrand new and only sat on brieflyā. When I asked about the process for swapping out the floor model cushions with the new ones in a few months, Chad told me that I should simply āaccept the cushions and move on with my lifeā. His words, not mine. I believe this response to be wildly inappropriate and inconsiderate, especially after the hassle id already had.
A few days later when I went to pick up the floor model cushions, no one at the store seemed to know what was going on. It took additional time to locate them, and when the cushions were brought out, they were DIRTY. Iām talking multiple dirty marks. My friend and I ultimately demanded a partial refund and I was offered $300 back for a sectional that costed me over $3,000, which hardly felt like enough compensation for the ordeal I experienced. I accepted it so I could just be done with this situation after going back and forth and being gaslit for over a month.
Overall the customer service was inadequate, communication was poor, and I was left feeling undervalued as a customer. I will not be returning to this store for any future purchases and cannot recommend them based on my experience. There are plenty of other furniture companies that provide much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI dealt with 2 sales associates on my recent purchase. Sam Lombard helped me with a recliner that met my request. I was there the day before she headed on vacation.
A couple of days later, I went back to the store to take advantage of the Memorial Day sale. This time, Stephanie Collins helped me with a club chair! Stephanie was VERY HELPFUL! š Stephanie was also VERY FRIENDLY! She showed me a number a chairs and I had it narrowed down to 2. I chose a wing chair, which she had pointed out to me. She was also very helpful with chosing a fabric for the wing chair. I ended up surprising her with my choice of fabric! š
Once I had my mind made up, Stephanie wrote up my order. She was so kind by printing out the image of the wing chair with the fabric that I chose! š¤ Plus she printed out a picture of the leather, that I chose for the recliner. Once she was done with all of the paperwork, she informed that Sam would be getting credit for the sale. I questioned that, and Stephanie was okay with that, being I started with Sam. I told her, had I have known, I'd have had her write up 2 separate orders. She was still okay with Sam getting the credit. But I ended up making a phone call to the store to talk to a store manager to let them know that I wanted Stephanie to get the credit for the wing chair that I ordered! I spoke with Magill. He totally understandable my feelings and said he'd make sure that Stephanie gets the credit (merits) for her part of the sale! That makes me feel better, because was truly a VERY GOOD Sales Associate! So if you go to Hom Furniture in Bloomington, MN, ask for Stephanie Collins! I highly recommend Stephanie!! āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø (on a scale of 1 to 5, I give...
Ā Ā Ā Read more12/22 So, we didnāt actually buy the furniture, Iāll start by saying that, but only because it turned out to be too big for our space. And I donāt remember the salespersonās name, it was either Darrin or Darrell, or some name starting with a D, and I feel the worst for not remembering because he was a really good salesperson! Went so far as to give me an exact estimate of how much the beautiful trundle sectional would have been with tax, delivery and everything, he was such a perfect gentleman and really would have deserved the commission had we actually bought the sectional. But what I really liked about him was, I wouldnāt even know that trundle sectionals were a thing if not for him š± Seriously. Everything was great about it, the price, the fabric, everything, it was just too long on the chaise lounge end. So, thank you, Darrin/Darrell, you are exactly the kind of knowledable and problem-solving salesperson I love working with! I hope to work with you to create a custom trundle sectional one day when my student loans are paid off!
6/23 Update, I just ordered a custom sectional! Went to six different furniture places today but still ended up here for their selection and prices. Worked with Cole, heās also a very good salesperson in that he asked all the right questions and was excited that I chose coral instead of grey. Thereās a lot to go over with custom but I never felt overwhelmed. Lots of fabric options and styles, and Iām getting everything I want all for just under $3k which is less than I expected to pay. Canāt wait for...
