I have been a customer of Sierra Trading Post for years, but I am very disappointed of their mask policy in the store for clients when the mask mandate has been lifted already for the state of Minnesota except for the city of Minneapolis and St. Paul. I am fully vaccinated and I find unacceptable from a store asking me to wear a mask for their own convince. After maybe fifteen minutes of been in the store an employee approached me to let me know about the policy and offered me a mask. I decided to stop shopping and just left. I would appreciate the employee approach me right away after I walk into the store but she was clearly busy gossiping to two more employees by the door where the employee that greets customer was. I will recommend making that approach to maskless customers as soon as they walked into the store, so we can make a choice right away and leave the...
Read moreDate of Visit: 11/18/2019 - Visited Sierra today for the first time. It's just like a TJ Maxx (TJX-affiliated), but with more focus on camping and outdoorsy gear. The store was fairly organized and picked-up. Our biggest complaint is the lack of larger clothing... I guess Sierra assumes that "outdoorsy" people aren't any bigger than 200lbs? There were a total of five 2XL coats and three 3XL clothes in the entire store (that we could find) and they all seemed to run small. My coats at home are 2XL and fit just fine, but the 2XL and 3XL at Sierra were too small. Some of the gear seems reasonably priced but others are still outside the average consumer's budget (ex: some coats are $40, others are $199+). The only thing we purchased was a box of biodegradable dog poop bags (240 bags for $6). Likely will return, but likely not...
Read moreI read that Sierra was building a store in Eden Prairie, but I didn't know what Sierra was. The article also said that was a Sierra in Richfield so I decided to check it out. Sorta like TJMaxx except with a slant towards outdoor / sport / activity clothing with some sports / activity items -- camping, biking, fishing. If you are a regular shopper at TJ, you might find something there, but if you are looking for a specific item, you would be better off and saving time by going to a regular sporting goods store. Prices are similar to TJ, but I have a hard time with many of their...
