This place is fantastic. I love it. The staff is majority friendly. There was one lady behind the counter that seemed a little grouchy with me specifically but people have bad days so it was probably nothin. The prices are very reasonable. The only thing is that they don't have a good action figure / collectables selection. Great comic store tho. It's awesome
EDITED ON 12/22/22 There action figure and collectables have gotten A LOT better and continue to grow. I've had all good interactions with the staff. I live in Bloomington IN currently but out of all the comic shops I've gave my business to VINTAGE PHOENIX stands tall compared to others. They are always nice and have tremendous patience when I ask questions about comics and such. I really appreciate it. Everywhere else I've shopped at gives me the "Google it" response. I also picked up a "mystery box" like thingy with some starwars comics and was NOT let down at all. This place is just a really nice gem for the comic community. I'm gonna miss it a lot when I move out of BTown. This place is like if a comic fan opened up a comic store and ran it themselves. Tremendous place and tremendous people. 11/10 for Vintage...
Read moreI live about 30 minutes away from Bloomington and this is one of my favorite places to go when I come to Btown. They are located closely to the square and within walking distance of the square which is great because Bloomington is such a great place to explore, especially downtown. I have been here several time and this is where I usually go to get my comics. The only thing that I can say bad about them is that they do not have a great back selection of comics. But they are a tiny shop so space is limiting that too of course. They did reconstruction last year on the outside of the shop. Customer service is always great when I come in also. And if they don't have something you're needing more than likely they can...
Read moreVisited this shop 7/23/24 while visiting Bloomington. Owner was very friendly and helpful, been in business since 1991 (I believe I was told). Nice selection of comic book sets, golden age to modern comics, and new comics. Reasonable prices with excellent over-all variety of books to peruse. Parking will cost you a buck for an hour to be close since it is downtown, but that's to be expected in a large college town. It was easy to find the shop and I'd definitely recommend checking this shop out if you are in town! Hope to...
