The inheritance is very difficult and can be somewhat frustrating if you aren’t a genius. I was frustrated not being the smartest person alive but still liked it to a degree.
What I don’t like is the man running it who thinks he is the smartest in the universe and insults people who dare suggest he didn’t create a perfect experience, rather then genuinely considering criticism in the comments and creating a better experience.
The clues between some puzzles were things that would only make sense if you were the person who thought of it or are exceptionally intelligent, which does not make for a good experience for the average person.
With a lot of experience making puzzles myself the best kinds are ones people enjoy. And this man has failed to do that with some of the puzzles in the room at least in my personal opinion, which is the point of a review.
It is easy to see the solution when he created it but if he was solving puzzles from someone of an equal disposition I would be willing to wager he would have just as hard a time as the many people who find this room in particular frustrating.
The man who made this room is very smart but he lets that intellect blind him from compassion and creating a good experience for his guests. He seems like he hopes you fail rather than encouraging you. He will smile almost gloating over your failure counting it as a victory for himself, personally the behavior disgusted me.
I expect a long response like the ones I have seen on anything short of 5 star review that will have him showcasing the behavior I speak of and further prove my point. I expect blind insults as well as he grows defensive rather than considering growth.
Honestly thought the room is not that bad but I would avoid it because there are many good experiences out there where you don’t have to deal with people like this life is short enjoy it don’t let this man filled with too much pride and intelligence...
Read moreWe went to The Omega Device room. Before I review this room, I want to say that I have done many, many rooms, and my group did get out of this one with nine minutes to spare. This room looked immersive, and the tech was very cool. However, this room is painfully linear. We went with a group of eight, and me and my brother were the only ones that got the full experience of solving and discovering due to the nature of its one at a time puzzles. It was difficult, we used two clues, but we got stuck on parts of the room that never truly seemed to correlate. Usually in rooms they clarify as to whether clues are one and done, in this room they are not. We spent countless minutes looking for new content just to find we needed to reuse something that was there prior. If you are a seasoned group and want to play, I would recommend a maximum of 3 players. I will be coming back once the other rooms open, but it will be with a smaller group.
Edit: Thanks for your response! I have been to 50 escape rooms, and I haven’t gotten out of 3. I apologize for that miscommunication. I try to review out of honesty, and it seems that from the other low reviews you don’t take to criticism too well. The other folks in the room are new to escaping, and I am so very glad that they enjoyed it! I am not downplaying their experience at all, I just wanted to share my own. I did not bad mouth your room in the lobby, as a matter of fact we were celebrating our success with the other group we were with. I would hope that with your eight years of experience, you could learn to take negative reviews in a way that would make you want to improve, not tear down a 20 year old with a hobby. Do not worry, I will not be returning to your other rooms, and I will be telling my friends about the experience I had. I hope you have a fantastic rest...
Read moreDid the Inheritance room and it was decent (with a good storyline and layout), but the music was too loud. We felt like we couldn't hear our own thoughts let alone the guide on the walkie, which we literally could not at points. I have NEVER had that issue with any other eacape room I've done. And with a completion rate of 0.2, maybe a riddle should be taken out... I don't think being proud of stumping all, but 1 group (on the first go) in over a year, is an accomplishment, and I'm saying that as a group that's done at least 15-20 escape rooms (which the ownwr now claims I said we were experts). Take advantage of getting 10% off when paying with cash.
Update: since I can't reply to the owner's rude comment, I'll update it here. You want to talk about ego, you should look at yourself in the mirror, hun. And no, never said we were experts, but we do take playing the game seriously. Some people do find taking a game seriously, fun (especially for the price), and we've certainly done more escape rooms than the average person to know which are decent rooms or not and the attitude of the owner plays a part in that too. Also, never said the room was bad, only the music. Sorry you can't take the criticism, which I can see from other rude comments and insults you've made to customers who don't leave you a glowing review. Dude, you got your money regardless. It amazes me that you'd rather lash out and insult costomers instead of listen to feed back and use it to grow. And no, I don't think I was harsh to start, but now I will be. Don't own a business if you can't handle comments and criticism. And I normally don't leave reviews unless the product/service is not good or the owner/operator/worker has a bad attitude. Now I definitely can say, save your money and...
