Beautiful venue, clean and well decorated, great lighting and sound system. Exceptionally courteous and friendly staff. Convenient on-street parking and the main floor of the theatre are all on the same level. Easy access for anyone with wheelchairs, crutches, canes, scooters, or walkers. Spacious seating on the main floor level as well as in the balcony. Clean, well lit restrooms are convenient and close. Handicapped and disabled seating are available and well situated. Beautifully maintained old 30s movie theater in the heart of downtown Boone, NC. We attended the 2nd annual Boone Docs, presenting a dozen short documentary films. Each was a treasure of information, well-done creations covering a wide array of Appalachian subjects. Honestly had quite the challenge voting on just one for the audience award. Pre-showing there was a reception for the film makers with light snacks in an upstairs room, a very nice space with a small stage. The main lobby is charming with a refreshments counter. It was a blast. They have renovated the old Appalachian Theater and returned it back to its former glory. We were there to see and listen to The Embers featuring Craig Woolard and they were awesome in this theater venue. The facility is very well designed and maintained. We couldn't have had a better evening out. We hope that the management will bring more Carolina Beach Music bands to the facility. It's less than a half hour drive from our home in West Jefferson which means we don't have to be out late at night. We can't wait to go...
