I have been a long time fan of ENews and used to go quite a bit when I was a student at App. Went back today while visiting and they still have the best coffee! I always get an iced white mocha so I can only speak for that - it’s fantastic and I highly recommend it. I also think the prices are so good compared to other coffee shops! I got a large iced coffee with sugar free caramel syrup for my sister before I left for only $3.50. The coffee shop has perfect “Boone vibes” but parking is limited (I parked on king street and paid for parking $1 an hour M-F). I sat upstairs while enjoying my coffee, but I did notice they had a bunch of fans running up there and it was warm. Thankfully when I visited there was a nice cool breeze in town so it didn’t bother me. I may be biased due to good memories, but I will definitely be back before my vacation is over.

Update: came back June 2024 and still amazing! I wanted to leave a second review but Google won’t let me. Thank you ENews for being my consistent coffee shop while...

I don't really go to coffee shops for the taste of the coffee. I certainly avoid bad tasting coffee, but I don't get very technical about it because it mostly tastes good to me everywhere. With that being said, I'm no expert on coffee, and I highly doubt most people are either. This is why I go to a coffee shop more for the atmosphere. E news has such a unique vibe to it with all it's nooks and comfy spots scattered around up stairs. It's like if you want to be anti-social but not alone but also don't mind bumping into an ex or two, this is the place to go. The coffee and baked goods taste great too. I've never had any issues with the employees, but none of them stand out with their service either which is kind of how I like it when I haven't had my cup of joe yet. If you haven't been here, you have to go because of the experience. If you've been, keep going and find yourself a nook to sit in for hours while you read or do homework....

As someone who drinks coffee pretty much everyday, during my time visiting Boone I had to visit Espresso News. The café itself is nicely kept and spacious (however there was no indoor seating, due to Covid), and offered a nice, friendly atmosphere. In terms of offerings, they had the regular espresso offerings as well as some interesting ones, including espresso with tonic water (if I recall correctly). The barista was very nice and knew what he was talking about, and offered patience as I asked questions about methodology and offerings. They do have dairy milk alternatives, I chose oatmilk as mine. They also have several different flavoring syrups, to which I had salted caramel, and it was delicious. The barista drew a cute "milk man" in my latte (as he called it), and I will definitely visit again if I find myself in...

An established cafe tucked off Main Street behind mini mall. Tea selection is top notch. Bring your own stainless steel mug. Earl grey!! Coffee is amazing. Espresso pull is excellent. Drip is on point. Two visits in two days. Kenya, organic Guatemalan, or dark Sumatra were options, next day, organic Mexico, Brazil, + 1, sorry has to go since I was illegally parked one lot over. We also ordered white chocolate mocha in cafe which was delicious! 😋 Staff is friendly, talks to everyone, tons of regulars and mountaineers come through. Food options are pastries, such as blueberry muffin, cinnamon caramel scone, unimpressed. Be aware, small space, long lines, avoid peak times or get there earlier for a better experience. A staple in Boone, would return, highly recommend!
