My husband bought the most incredible diamond and sapphire ring from the Ritz as a gift to me on our wedding day. I saw it in the window, made a passing comment that it reminded me of my grandmother’s ring and while I went into another shop, my husband ducked in and purchased it. The shop owner was kind enough to become a co-conspirator and hide the ring until my husband was able to pick it up later. I was thrilled and in tears when I opened it on the big day!
