Mysterious Harbor Tours — Attraction in Boothbay Harbor

We had a wonderful adventure on our e-bike Hidden Harbor tour during our time in Boothbay Harbor.  Lisa was a fantastic guide and a wonderful storyteller.  Her off the beaten path histories and stories gave a wonderful depth to Boothbay and the surrounding region.  You can feel her love for the area and its history with every story, tale, and anecdote she weaves into the stops along the way.  Our route took us past old historic cabins, gorgeous views and the beautifully iconic Spruce Point Inn. That route was made all the more enjoyable and manageable (it was HOT that day) with our wonderful e-bikes.  Lisa and Roger took tremendous care and attention to ensure we were fitted, familiar and comfortable with our e-bikes for the tour.  With e-bikes there was some technology to learn, but their guidance and instruction made it a very easy process and it made our tour manageable and enjoyable rather than exhausting and draining.  The attention and equipment keeps you safe and comfortable during your entire adventure.

My sister, 64, and I, 61, did the Boothbay Harbor ebike tour with Lisa, the owner, and Kevin, the bike shop manager. We were on a cruise so we met them at the harbor and they drove us along with a few others to their shop where we were able to practice in their parking lot before we set out on the road. The bikes were already fitted for our heights but Kevin made adjustments to our seats and my handlebars to make sure we had a good fit. It took a little bit of practice to get used to how quickly the motor got you up to speed but they made sure everyone was comfortable using the ebike before we set out. Lisa was always in the lead and Kevin was the caboose to ensure we stayed together and were safe while riding along the roads. The majority of streets during this tour were quiet and beautiful neighborhoods. We had several stops along the way where Lisa took pics (which she sent us after the tour) and told interesting stories about the history of the locations. One locale was Villard Studios where we were given a whiteline woodblock print demo by a local artist. Overall the ride around town was a delight. Our guides were super knowledgeable and personable, and made sure we were safe AND enjoyed the experience. If you’re visiting Boothbay Harbor, do yourself a favor and book this e-bike tour! This was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Lisa, our guide, was knowledgeable, fun, and full of local stories that brought the beautiful Maine coast to life. Her husband Roger joined the tour and added such a warm, welcoming energy to the experience — they make a fantastic team!

The e-bikes were super comfortable and easy to ride, even for those who don’t bike often. We cruised along scenic backroads, through charming coastal neighborhoods, and stopped at breathtaking viewpoints we never would have found on our own. Lisa’s pacing was perfect and she made sure everyone felt safe and confident.
