Pedego Electric Bikes Boothbay Harbor — Local services in Boothbay Harbor

Visited Pedego/Boothbay Sept 3, 2024 just to see if I could possibly be able to ride. I have had 2 knee replacements within the last 18 months, and I cannot bend my knees much more than 95°. So bicycling has been out of the question, even tho it is the best physical therapy I could do for my knees. Kevin was INCREDIBLE in his knowledge of people with limitations such as mine. He started me on the trike. I did so well, with his encouragement and assistance that I was confident I could ride again. So the next day (4th) husband and I returned to rent bikes and take a ride. Kevin worked with me again, very patiently and very encouragingly and graduated me to an Interceptor model (2 wheeler), coached me with practice rides around the parking lot until I was ready to be released on a real ride. We then rode over 8 miles (over 1 hour) through hilly local streets with gorgeous scenery. I was very excited and happy to have successfully riden the entire route without falling! Roger helped my husband get acclimated to his bike and even helped us with a few great local tips for getting through town. If I could give a 10 out of 10 stars, I would. My wife and I have been interested in E-bikes for a while, so when we saw the new Pedego store in Boothbay a few months ago, we stopped in and got some great information from Roger and Lisa.

This weekend we decided to go ahead with them. Roger had us try several different models in the parking lot based on our riding interests. That was very helpful, because we ended up selecting models slightly different from our initial plan, plus swapping out different style seats. Blake quickly took care of all the adjustments and customizations as we tried different things.

Before buying, Roger had us take them for an extended ride around some of the Boothbay hills. That cemented our choice. We ended up with a pair of Trail Trackers with comfort seats and also swapped out the MTB style grips for padded ones.

We had pretty much figured we were done with biking, especially with the hilly terrain, but these bikes are awesome. They allow us to enjoy the beautiful scenery we're riding in with a nice manageable effort boosted by the pedal assist. These bikes will really open up our enjoyment of this beautiful area.

I was on my summer vacation in the area and really wanted to ride a bike. I stopped in today and Roger and Blake were so helpful! We were able to find a bike that would work well for me (I'm very short). Then Roger showed me some areas to ride on Google Maps. He is such a nice guy, it was really great working with him. The bike ride was fantastic too!!! He showed me some roads that have very light traffic and wonderful sites. The route I took went through an area with beautiful old cabins, bayside views, and gorgeous foliage. Using the electric bikes was a much better experience too! Normally when I go for a bike ride I'm so sore after that I can barely move. The electric bikes do all the hard work - I was able to go up steep hills with no problems! No pain! The speed control was really good too - I was able to go on a local dirt trail at 4MPH and also power through some roadways at over 20MPH. It was a really wonderful...
