We visited on a Wednesday in mid-June 2025 around noon. This was our last stop on the Freedom Trail for the day and we decided this is where we wanted to spend our money to do the tour. We paid extra to do the Crypt. The general admission was $5 per person and $9 if you wanted to go into the crypt. It was a self guided tour. The Crypt isn't very big. Just a U-shaped hallway. It did seem very tourist trappy but as long as you knew what you were going to get it was fine. I mean unless you geek out about these things and history it probably would be a waste a money for most folks. We've seen enough weird stuff like this that it was worth it for us. There is a map and signage and displays to read. But we didn't stay more than 15 mins in here. It is pretty tight. They had one staff member down here and they kind of just manned the door and checked to make sure folks had paid to enter. He did answer questions if people had them. It's self guided. There was the one funny exhibit with the brick that was stolen and then returned claiming it had caused them back luck. Is it true or just a tourist gimmick, who knows but it was funny none-the-less. Probably would not visit again but worth the first visit for us. There was one group in the crypt when we arrived and another group was coming in as we left. Otherwise it wasn't too crowded at all in their. But then again it was additional fee to enter.

You definitely want to go to the crypts when you visit Boston. So much history and knowledge, it's amazing.

Don’t bother, take the $20 and go down the street and get a cannoli. All the pictures you see in the reviews is all you need. It’s literally a walk through 3 brick lined hallways. There’s not a single view of the crypts as they are all sealed. The guides were very knowledgeable but when it comes down to going into the actual crypts/basement of the church, the most interesting thing down there was the size of the timbers supporting the church above.

For history buffs it may mean a little more but for me it was meh. Again the guides were great and very knowledgeable but the crypts were just a little more than...

Really interesting experience after having gotten context via the audio tour experience in the church. The educators/guides were helpful and shared a lot of interesting facts and background on the customs of the time as well as the restoration and re-opening of the crypts to the public. This and the church audio tour were worth...
