Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing, and I won’t be returning unless I can specifically book with Danny, who did a great job on my friend’s pedicure.
We walked in and were seated quickly for gel pedicures. My friend had to wait about 15–20 minutes for Danny to finish with another client, which wasn’t an issue. I actually started before her—and yet she finished a full 10 minutes before me, which says a lot about how inefficient my service was.
The technician I was assigned seemed like it might have been her first day. She didn’t know how to properly remove gel polish and soaked my feet before even trying to take it off, which just made the process more difficult. I’ve been getting gel pedicures consistently for over 10 years and have never experienced anything like this.
When it was time to choose polish, she brought me two random colors that were similar to what I picked instead of the actual color I chose. I had to ask her to please get the one I wanted, and thankfully the man at the front stepped in to help.
Then came the pedicure, which was just strange. She painted and cured each toe one at a time—starting only with the big toes—rather than doing all five and curing together like every other salon I’ve been to. This dragged the service out unnecessarily and made it feel awkward and unprofessional.
She ended with a “massage,” which was basically just rubbing lotion into my legs for a few seconds. By that point, I was just ready to go. The finished result was okay, but certainly not worth the time or frustration.
Also worth mentioning: the entire salon had a strong citronella scent that was overwhelming and not pleasant. Between the inexperience, the lack of efficiency, and the odd environment, I wouldn’t come back—unless I could book with Danny, who clearly knows...
Read moreHad a terrible experience here today. Me and two other girls made an appointment to have our nails done together at 2pm. The other two in my group were taken after waiting just a few minutes however I waited nearly 45 minutes to be seen. I waited and didn’t say anything, but when the receptionist came over to tell me I was up next she said “there’s nothing we can do, we only have 7 people working”. Which was a weird thing to say because we called 3+ hours in advance to make the appointment. We weren’t walk-in’s. Once I finally sat down, my manicurist asked me what color I wanted. She went back and forth with other manicurists asking them to get the color. No one could find what I had picked out and with my hands soaking there wasn’t much I could do. No one offered to help me get a similar color (outside of telling me I could have black which isn’t what I picked out). I ended up panic-choosing a color because I was already so far behind in my appointment. I told the manicurist I didn’t like the color but she assured me after a few coats I would like it. I still didn’t like the color, and the manicure is nothing special. I have a lot of polish build up around my cuticles and my nails are jagged. The girls I went with also had bad experience. One wanted mocha colored gel polish with a clear chrome finish. She ended up with 100% silver nails after her manicurist put waaaaaay too much chrome powder on. All in all a very bad experience. And to top it all off, they bundle gel removal in the cost of a gel manicure so I paid $38 for a mediocre gel manicure AND a removal when I came in with bare nails. Won’t...
Read moreThis is the worst nail salon I’ve been to in all of Boston. Tonight I left crying and bleeding. First of all, the man who attempted my pedicure started using a nail drill on my bare nails, and when I asked him to stop because he was hurting me, he said “no don’t worry” and kept going. The drill made a small cut on the side of my toe. He then proceeded to go over that same area with a cuticle cutter, which caused the cut to bleed. I asked him to please stop and just paint my nails. I asked for French. Big mistake. The way this man tried to do French was offensive. He painted thick white horizontal lines that took up half of each toe nail. He then proceeded to color in the remaining portion of the nail with a nude color that he striped on horizontally. There was no base coat or top coat, and my toes were filed down in a way that made them rough and uneven. He was supposed to give me a gel manicure as well, but as soon as I sat down he took out his drill again, even though my nails were completely bare. I couldn’t take it anymore so I asked him to give me just a clear coat (no cutting or filing since he clearly couldn’t do that). But no, that was too difficult. He takes out his file and starts shaping my thumb to a point. At this point, I was tearing up and still bleeding. They charged me $50 for that catastrophe. I left with my nails looking worse than before. I will NEVER go back there.
