My review pertains to only the children's section as that's why i visited: There is hard tiled flooring throughout the newly renovated kid (and otherwise beautiful) section. Honestly, what were they thinking? Did they not know carpet dampens sound? Or that small children tend to trip and fall? There is also a gigantic booth-thing in the kids section which takes up most of the space and makes seeing around (and looking after the children) nearly impossible. They do the children's story-time in the basement (NOT in the kids area, likely due to the badly used design) which is really a pain when you there are so many strollers. There, the kids are expected to sit on the unswept tiled floor and there are uncomfortable seats for the caretakers. The woman doing the story time does an excellent job but really the space is so horribly unsuited to kids and their caretakers I won’t go back.
It seems a beautiful library but clearly impractical to children, I think the designers must have never been around children....
Read moreThe lady assisted me was great. Yes a but, the elevator was available when my professor went upstairs but when we left there was a sign saying can't use 😑 elevator. I personally despise this because both my knee and ankle was bothering me that day. I walked down this time. But a month ago had to walk upstairs with my cane and downstairs 😐. If they don't want folks using computers upstairs or to study perhaps they should put a chain across stairs downstairs and keep sign up indefinitely. Believe it was thin African American young lady about 20 with glasses. She looked at us coming up...
Read moreLovely library. Recently renovated to meet modern needs. Plenty of space to work. Very nice kids room on the far end of the library to help keep things quiet for everyone else. Conference room and event room big enough to keep likely 50+ in the basement for community functions. They just added a makerspace (a 3D printer and some desktop workstations) and I wouldn't be surprised if they'd accept help or donations to expand it. Fiore's bakery is across the street if you ever need a snack. Overall a great community space and...
