Visiting from another state. Came here with some friends who told me this was the best place for fried clams which I was craving for. They said order the seafood platter which comes with the best clam chowder. The place was packed. We were squished waiting at the front door which was the only place to wait until your name was called. My opinion, it was like a hole in the wall where locals gather. (Nothing wrong with that. ) The waitress was pleasant but extremely busy. We all ordered the fried seafood platter plate. It wasn't long before our food arrived. As soon as the plate was sat before I was immediately disappointed. I really wanted fried clams and they gave me 4 clams with the bellies, 4 shrimp, 3 scallops and 2 half pieces of fish. I was looking for a plate overflowing with these items since it's called a platter. Tasting every item including the clam chowder left me disappointed as there was no good seasonings that I liked on any of the food. The only thing I enjoyed was the fries. I'm leaving this spot to the locals who seemed to really enjoy the food while my search continues for great fried clams in Boston.

Early in the meal I thought I had Covid because I couldn’t taste the bread. Then my boyfriend told me the bread had no taste. Phew. We both seemed to have bigger eyes than stomachs because we ordered like crazy: pizza, seafood entrées which came with a big mug of chowder, bread, and two large sides. And we somehow ordered french fries on top of all that. The pizza was surprisingly delicious and the crust was probably the best part. The cheese seemed to have a habit of sliding off but that might just have been because it was served so hot. The seafood entrées were just OK – the scallops were rather tasteless other than the breading on top. We did enjoy the chowder which was surprisingly thick and creamy, although it was almost devoid of clams. and finally, the fries were delicious. Next time I think we’ll just get a pizza and fries. As an aside, Sage decided to try a Negroni and it was terrible which was not the fault of the restaurant but it’s probably just a terrible drink, period.

This cozy Irish/American/Italian(??) pub exceeded my expectations. I admit, this kind of generic American pub fare is not at all my favorite, but I went with a friend. I ordered the soup of the day (escarole) and a cheeseburger. The escarole was definitely the highlight (not bad for three bucks!) and my cheeseburger was definitely above average. The steak fries were under seasoned, but nothing a personal application of salt and pepper couldn’t fix. To be clear, this bar is not promising anything it can’t deliver. I’m confused why it’s an Irish pub when the entire menu seems clearly Italian/American. Pasta, steak, and seafood (broiled or fried). It was definitely well attended the Friday lunch I came in, and the staff was friendly and cheerful, if a bit swamped. If you are in the mood for above average American bar-food fare it’s definitely a strong option. I doubt its menu has changed in decades, but I think for a certain clientele that’s probably appreciated.

My favorite restaurant is the Galway House. It is a one of a kind pub/bar with everything you would want at a restaurant. First it's convenient. This is because it's a really short drive. Only about ten minutes from practically anywhere in Jamaica Plain. Next the food is awesome. I love the juicy burgers and the spicy buffalo wings. I also love the giant fries. Lastly, there are sports on the TV going on all the time and it just brings people together.

First, it's convenient! It's really awesome to live so close to it. It's a really short drive! It's only about a ten minute drive from my house, so it's very convenient. The address is 710 Centre ST, Jamaica Plain. Next, it's really hard to get lost on your way there because it's in a small town. And if you do get lost you can ask someone because everyone there is really nice and friendly. Also, when you drive next to it it's so hard to miss that it's almost impossible. This is because it says in huge letters GALWAY HOUSE in green right above it. Those are a few examples of it being convenient.

Next, the food is AMAZING!!!!! The food is probably the most important reason why The Galway House is my favorite restaurant because it's AMAZING!!!!! The buffalo wings are the best I've ever had because they're really rich tasting and it's not too hot and not too mild. You can even get them in different spices and choose how spicy it they should be. I also like the burgers and fries because they're juicy and there's a huge variety of toppings you can get on the burger such as pickles, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes and much much more. Those were just "basic" toppings. My next reason is the food isn't bad for you. It's sort of healthy if you order the right food. The good thing is it's organic!!! Third, there's sooooooooooooooooo many choices of food. There's around 5 pages so there's a HUGE variety. When I used to go I didn't even know what to get!

Also in The Galway House there's lots of sports going on which brings everyone together. And who doesn't love sports???? First, there's about 7 TVs with either sports or the news on. But there's mostly sports on. Even the bartenders watch the sports. Second, there are multiple different sports on. There's not just football or baseball on. I usually see soccer, football, basketball and baseball. And if people like college sports or official league sports there's both on! You could watch Syracuse basketball games or maybe Real Madrid soccer games! There's just a huge variety of sports. Third, when your team scores, you won't only be cheering because most likely a lot of people will. This is because sports are famous and if you're cheering for a Boston team it's even more likely people will be cheering. If you don't like sports very much, maybe this will get you to like it so you see how sports can bring people together.

The actual part of JP The Galway House is in is JP Center on Centre Street. It's right next to a CVS Pharmacy™. If I wasn't clear before the address is: 710 Centre ST, Jamaica Plain. Those were a few reasons why The Galway House is the BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!!!!!! There's beer too.

Hi, my name is Elias. I'm a 3rd grader at the BTU school. Today I'm going to be talking about the Galway. My favorite food to order is their steak tips. They taste like little perfectly cooked hamburger pieces. I also like the mashed potatoes. They're not too hard, but also not too mushy. They put the perfect amount of butter and salt. The service there is AMAZING!!! When something inappropriate for kids is on the T.V., they change it immediately. The Galway is also really easy to find. It is in JP near the CVS. Something you can look for is the train on the door. At night, you can see the light on the middle of the door turn on. These are the reasons why my favorite restaurant...

FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR: Second time coming to this bar/restaurant. Each time they had a patron guarding the only women's restroom for 10-15 minutes at a time. Waiters/Waitresses/Bartender did nothing about the bathroom troll turning people away who desperately needed to use the bathroom. So, I asked the woman (today, second time visiting) to please let other people use the bathroom. My mom who is disabled and my 9 year old needed to go pee. She started to yell and say "Go use the men's room!" I told her "no, they need to use the women's room " Then she proceeded to hit me with the bathroom door. Meanwhile, waiter/waitresses/bartender do nothing but stand there and watch this unfold. So, we picked up our things and left. As we were leaving the bathroom troll yells "typical!" Seriously?? This is the type of stuff that reminds me that we cannot go in an Irish bar and enjoy a meal! To them, we are just second class people who need to just pay our money and leave. This is a racist establishment and I will NEVER go there again!!!!👎👎👎 I will encourage other people in the area to do the same. #unsatisfied #typical #black...
