I would not recommend this place, but everyone has their own experiences. I went to see the Freddie Gibbs & MADLIB concert last night, and at some point towards the end, I dropped my phone. As I was leaving the lobby, my friends and I were checking our pockets to make sure we had everything, and I noticed my phone was missing. When we had left our seats, I mistook my wallet for my phone in my pocket. We hadn't even completely stepped outside the building yet. I turned around to go look for it, when security stopped me. They told me there was a "No Re-Entry" policy. I told them that I left my phone, where I was seated, and asked if I could quickly go look for it. They told me I couldn't. I asked if they could send one of the security guards to go look for it, and they said they would look. After a few minutes, one of the security members told me that they did a sweep and found nothing. I asked if they could look again, and they said in a few minutes. After waiting for about 15-20 minutes, the security guy came back and said that they couldn't find it. I was given a business card and told to call the Hall in the morning to see if they had found my phone overnight. He assured me that there was nothing to worry about, and he claimed that it was not going to be stolen. I called twice in the morning, and both times I was sent straight to voicemail. The recording told me to leave a message, or send an email and that they would get back to me whenever they can. I am not familiar with the Boston area, and with no gps, I was left with no choice but to drive around like a madman trying to find the hall through all the traffic. I went to security, asked if they had found a phone last night, and they said they hadn't. They gave me the same business card I already had in my pocket, and told me the same thing, to call again the next morning. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with or if someone else had found it, and after checking with the box office, the two phones they had in the office were not mine. I tracked my phone's location using Google, and sure enough, it had been stolen. I have called the MGM Music Hall's number at least 10 times, and not once have I actually "spoken to a representative." Also, the seats are small and cramped, and as some of the other reviews have mentioned, there is a lack of restrooms too.
1/10 I would not go back again unless the world itself was ending. The hall is in the worst spot, right next to Fenway. Traffic in Boston is already horrible enough, but when there is a game on the same night as a show, it's literally a nightmare. Parking is even worse because the parking lots in the area double, and some of them even triple the price of their parking during events. All the items are also overpriced, from merchandise, to food, to even water. This place is beyond ridiculous, it's straight evil...
Read moreI saw Lil Tecca at MGM Music Hall on September 24, 2025. The venue itself is one of my favorites for moshing—plenty of space and a great setup for the performance. However, the outside area, merch line, and entrance get way too crowded during sold-out shows, especially around the stairs and bathrooms. Like seriously way too crowded and whoever came up with a design of that needs to be spoken to because trying to use the bathroom or trying to move around legitimately anywhere in that entrance area during a sold out show it takes 10 times longer.
The biggest issue, though, was the experience: there was a mass chain snatcher in the crowd. Mine, my cousin’s, and I wouldn’t be surprised if 15–20 chains were taken in total. I say this because at least 10 people came up to me asking me if I have seen their chain because it got snatched. I know this isn’t directly the venue’s fault, but it shows how unsafe the environment felt. If you try to ask MGM for any sort of assistance or what they can do for you, it’s like asking a wall if they could help you solve an issue. They’ll tell you to go to the Lost and Found, which is almost a .01% chance your necklace is gonna be in the Lost and Found and then the staff is just incredibly rude and obviously they will probably tell you that they are not liable for any lost or damaged items just like any other venue out there.
On top of that, the crowd was overwhelmingly young—some fans were as young as 8 or 9—and their lack of maturity made the experience worse. For example, during the openers I heard nonstop complaining from younger fans who just wanted Tecca to come out, while I enjoyed every minute of the performances.
That’s why I strongly believe making shows like this 18+ could make a real difference. It won’t solve every problem, but it would add maturity, reduce reckless behavior, and create a safer, more enjoyable atmosphere for moshing. Right now, too many fans aren’t ready for what comes with that kind of pit.
Tecca himself was amazing, and the two stars I’m giving are solely for his energy—the rest of the experience was disappointing. I originally submitted this review to Ticketmaster over four days ago, but it’s still not published, which makes me wonder if they only approve 4-star-and-up reviews. Since I only see positive reviews on their site, I feel it’s important to make this public so others know what...
Read moreWent here to see Turnpike Troubadours and Dropkick Murphys day before St Patrick's Day. What a great venue to see a band! Huge floor, great stadium seating and lots of long bars. Hardly any wait at the bar even though it was packed. Lots of space to move/walk around. Can see the stage well from almost every part of the club. Beautiful big screens for close up views of the musicians. Brand new, clean, beautiful set up right on Landsdowne st next to all the other clubs and bars. Pay lots or street parking. I've been going to see live music for 40 years and this is one of the best smaller (compared to concert arenas) local venues around. It's the biggest club/venue around Lansdowne st. Very impressive! Nice employees. Definitely highly recommended.
August 5 2023 Went here to see Santana in concert. Fantastic show!! My second time at this venue. Was disappointed that MGM had the floor in front of the stage filled with folding chairs this time. Last show I was here the floor was open for general admission and dancing. They also had folding chairs filled in on both sides around the sides of the stage that are usually open areas for general admission. Guess they had to make every bit of extra money possible with a big headliner. I didn't look at the stage set up online ahead of time, which did show they had seating set up in these spots for this particular show. My sister had bought the tickets. But Carlos and the band were absolutely amazing! They sounded as great as ever! Otherwise it's a great venue. But definitely much better when the floor is open. Found a spot to watch and dance around anyway. Plenty of space around the bars on both sides of the stage and easy access. And not so crowded you couldn't walk around the venue from one side to the other easy enough. Sound & lighting was great. Still a great place to see a show. Nice, new modern building and set up. Big stage and pretty good views from almost anywhere. But folding chairs definitely clogged it up and made it less fun than when it's open floor. Still a fantastic show and had...
