Minter & Richter Designs — Attraction in Boston

I loved my experience with Minter and Richter. I emailed them after finding them on Etsy, I wanted a special ring for my Husband for a wedding ring. When I came across their Moose Antler ring I knew it would be perfect! Once I looked into their website, I found out I could custom design my own ring. Then I began communication with M&R, I wanted to do this secretly, as a surprise to my husband. After much thought, I chose an in-lay of Moose antler -to represent me, and an in-lay of maple wood -to represent him. I sent in a ring I had that I knew fit him, for M&R to use as sizing. I had the ring sent to my In laws house, where we were getting married, so I couldn't ruin the surprise. The ring arrived and it was even more breathtaking than I expected! It arrived before the time it was due to arrive, even better! I gave my husband the ring 10 minutes before we got married, he was completely dumbfounded! He had no idea. He was also in awe of how beautiful the ring is, and why I choose what I choose. He can't wait for me to finally get a matching one. We are both grateful to M&R for helping to make our wedding day the best day of our lives. We couldn't ask for better customer service from a company who loves their customers with all of their heart! I recommend M&R to ANYONE I know that is getting married. It's so much nicer to have a ring you put your heart into, and one the company puts their hearts into as well. Plus, who wants a ring...

I have had my wedding band for three years now and am very happy with it. I wanted a ring that represented the place that I come from, California. As such, I chose California Buckeye burl for the wood inlay. Minter & Richter then allowed me to send them a piece of abalone form one of the numerous shells that I dive for and collect every year. They cut a piece from this and inlaid it into the buckeye. It's totally beautiful. Wearing the ring really makes me feel connected to the place that my wife and I love and are a part of.

My only minor complaint is that the ring has not worn quite as well as I would have hoped. I am admittedly very hard on things, doing a lot of outdoor activities (diving, hiking, camping, etc.) and work (I'm an archaeologist and spend a lot of time digging my hands into dirt). There has been a fair amount of tarnishing/scratching of the exterior part of the titanium, and the wood seems to have darkened over time (presumably from having absorbed oils, etc.), which has led to less contrast in the burl and more of a "plain" looking ring. None of these things I am terribly concerned with, as I don't mind a more time worn look, but I would say that some of the original beauty has been diminished. Hopefully this will be remedied by a good polishing. All in all, I highly recommend these unique and customizable...

My ring is very well made, it fits me perfectly, and is quite lovely. The only reason this rating is 4 instead of 5 stars is because the final product looked so very different from what I thought I was going to get, which is also my fault b/c I wasn't as clear with my expectations as I should have been. I chose a the ring I did specifically b/c it looked like (and was named after) a galaxy. I knew the ring in the picture was just an example and not the ring I would be getting, however the ring I did finally get was a different color and not at all like a galaxy. To clarify, they didn't mess up the order, it was still made from the wood that was ordered, but it was a different color than the pictured one, and I guess I don't know a lot about wood to know that that was an option. If I had done more homework on my end I would have been able to be clearer in what I wanted, using the lingo they did, so that we were all on the same page. However, the ring was still beautiful so I decided to keep in instead of sending it back at a loss of 1/2 the cost.

I would DEFINITELY order another ring from Minter & Richter Designs in the future, and I would recommend them to a friend. But next time I would make sure the email the artist so that we were totally on...
