If I could give zero stars I would. This facility has caused me inconvenience more than once but this final time takes the cake. While away out of the country I return to find a message stating my dog tested positive for hook worm. They stated he was kept from the other dogs and needed my permission to administer the medication. They specifically stated in both messages left it would not be a boarding issue but he just had to be kept from other dogs. I called once I got the message back in the states where they indicated that again and I gave permission for the meds. I also inquired as to why they didnāt call my emergency contact as it is medication that is needed and they should have been called. I got a convoluted response that equated to no one having common sense and not thinking of that option. The next day once back in Boston I go to thsee vet pay the medication fee and discuss with them how in 7 years if my dog never having an issue he could have gotten this especially when I wipe his paws after walks and they give the same possibilities that google gives with no real response. The only thing thatās interesting is that he acquires this after I begin letting him play with other dogs at boarding. They then proceed to tell me that this doesnāt prevent him from any stays with the facility but that he canāt socialize with others dogs same precautions ast they had been doing would be needed and they have to administer the second dose on the 3rd. After speaking with them and crossing over to the boarding part of the building Red Dog they then tell me while I inquire about adjusting his drop off date they need to have permission from the vet to board him. Magically the manager comes back and says they canāt board. Then it somehow turns into facility policy when none of this is as communicated before and both sides the vet and boarding facility both state he would just need to be away from other dogs as he usually is anyway in a private suite. They tell me this 9 days before I am to be out of the country and Iāve had this boarding reservation on my account for 6 months. The give me the name of two other places that state they canāt board my pet because heās not a regular member and both ironically enough state that it was strange Red Dog didnāt try to accommodate me as they did previously with my pet. Thanks to Red Dog as I donāt have any other accommodations I will be out 1500 for my trip with no one to watch my pet and a bunch of lies and excuses of incompetent people. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN. I urge you not to waste your money. All the money I have spent boarding my pet there and overlooked different issues of customer service thinking the star rating meant something to unfortunately find out I should have taken heed to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is incredible! I had to board my 9 year old German Shorthaired Pointer last week for 4 days and I picked up a very happy boy once home. I was nervous prior to the booking because Iāve never booked with them before, and I donāt trust my dog with anyone. Jarred, the manager, spent 30 minutes on the phone with me; answered every question I had, and could tell how stressed I was leaving my dog. He made me feel so calm and comfortable! He allowed me to pack one of my dogs blankets and recommended packing one of my t shirts so the smell could calm my dog. They supply beds and blankets and usually donāt allow for these items to be packed for boarding due to the possibility of misplacing them when they get laundered. He went over the process of what happens when boarding, and you can pick from a number of different things from actives to playtime. They offer a van pickup, which was so convenient, and it was only $10 I think. I asked about live camera feed or being able to put a camera in my dogs room; the facility doesnāt have camera feed (but their newer location does) and kennels arenāt equipped for having personal cameras in there (that made me nervous at first but I was promised updates on him which was perfect). My dog had to get a daycare assessment on his second day, he passed, and then went to the scheduled daycare time. Upon updates I requested one of the workers told me he was really stressed and therefore removed from daycare. Jarred called me and told me in detail my dogās behavior and that led me to start sobbing on the phone. After I calmed down a bit, he told me about the option for one-on-one time and I could schedule those for the rest of his stay. I went ahead with those, scheduled four a day (which is usually unfeasible due to the staff to dog ratio) but they allowed, and wanted, to do it because it was my dogās first time there. Jarred texted me close to a dozen pictures, and videos and kept me informed on his behavior (my dog was very, very happy). Jared gave him peanut butter kongās free of charge to help soothe him, which was an incredibly sweet gesture.
This must be an incredibly overwhelming job to have, caring for both the needs of the actual dogs and their owners, but Red Dog does it with grace. My dog was safe, cared for, loved, and I, an incredibly anxious owner felt at ease knowing he was in such great hands. I highly recommend this place to anyone. And Jarred if you see this, thank you so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've brought my first dog Lucy to red dog for the last 6 years for both boarding and daycare and now my new puppy. I have all positive things to say about the staff they know and remember my dogs very well. We travel extensively and red dog has always been accommodating and flexible even at last min. The only major cons I have is that they are grossly expensive sometimes boarding my dogs costs as much as my international trips and the prices keep going up, I really wish they would implement cameras for the prices and include doggy daycare š¢ the only time you get daycare is if you book a suite at a 120/night. The new 50% deposit is a money grab at best this used to be only for peak holiday boarding now it is for every time you board and they want this money before you even have an accepted room. We travel anywhere from 7 days to 12 days and board 2 dogs. Paying a 50% deposit for those days is crazy expensive. And lastly their room reservations is extremely frustrating you never know which rooms are still available and which ones are not they leave your reservation as pending for sometimes 2 or 3 days and then will cancel if not available with no reason nothing and don't even tell you what rooms are still available to book. I had to call and actually ask which is fine but they are so busy they prefer you not to call just to email. Once I did email and was told they had nothing so I called to be added to the wait list only to find out they did actually have two rooms open for my dates but that was never communicated to me wheh i emailed. I don't mean to slam red dog they've always taken good care of my dogs and they love it there but for the price I pay and how much money I have paid in the past I'm talking thousands and thousands of dollars (no lie) I would like to be informed a little better about reservations make the bookings easier ask people if they want to be added to the waitlists don't make them wait days to find out a reservation is taken or make them fork over huge deposits to even have a chance at getting a room. This place is turning into a corporate monopoly I don't blame the people who work there they are just doing their job but the people above need to realize price gouging along with poor customer service is...
