I found myself on Friday afternoon at 4:45 with a nearly non-functioning IPhone. I couldn't text or telephone anyone, and I was feeling a bit desperate.
Suddenly I remembered the Byte Shop which I had recently put in my contacts, and I drove there joining for emergency help.
Tim was getting ready to close up the Byte Shop. After introducing me to his wife and dog, Tim took my phone asking what the problem was. Within two seconds he had solved the problem in settings and at no charge.
I was so amazed and grateful. When I began to look around the shop and saw the display of old functioning computers, I became fascinated, and he said I could stay to look at them even though it was after closing time.
I didn't stay long, out of consideration for his time, but I will definitely be back to bring him my business and have an older computer recycled and any other computer issues solved.

After dropping my phone and cracking the screen to the point I couldn’t use it I started looking for someone to fix it for me so I didn’t have to buy a new one. I went online and found out Tim was opening an electronics store called Byte in the old Aviary Gallery space at 48 South Street, JP. He has been doing work from his home until the shop opens in July. Tim told me exactly what screen I needed to order, then I dropped my phone and new screen off and voila, in about an hour I had my now usable phone back for not much money! Read moreI feel so lucky to live within walking distance of The BYTE Shop! Tim is very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt better as soon as I dropped off my machine, knowing it was in good hands. He was able to fix a problem with my Dell laptop's audio driver in less than 24 hours. The Microsoft remote technician I tried first thought I'd have to reinstall Windows, but Tim found a simpler fix that left my OS, programs and files all intact. The price was incredibly reasonable, though I would be willing to pay almost anything to not have to deal with tech issues. You pay once service is complete, and in the case of my issue, the work is under warranty with the shop for 90 days, which is a pretty amazing level of service.
