Absolute waste of time and money. This place is a disgrace to Michigan.
Bought tickets over a month in advance. Drove out early Saturday thinking we would have a nice fall weekend up north. After all, we bought tickets in advance and surely would be able to access the bridge and enjoy our time. This couldn’t be further from the case.
The line just to get into the parking lot was indescribably long. Parking is disorganized, with no signs or attendance directing traffic. Once we parked, it was unclear where to go. We figured it out and made our way to the lift.
As we got closer, it became clear that we would be waiting yet again in a disorganized, long line. The employees were not welcoming and unhelpful. We stood in line for an hour before approaching what we thought would be the near end of our wait. Here, an employee explained that the line splits in two, one for a two person chair lift and the other for a larger, 8 person lift. We opted to stand in line for the 8 person lift as we were told it would move faster. To our disappointment, we were left waiting for another hour in line to get to a shuttle, which would take us to, you guessed it, another line for the lift.
Once we finally made it up on the lift (2.5+ hours after we arrived), we were starving and thirsty. We stood in another line to get something quick to give us energy to wait in yet another line for the bridge.
What we hadn’t been told, until this point, was that the bridge is one way traffic only. So both lines (from the 2 person chair lift and the 8 person) now converged into one unbelievable line to cross the bridge. This wait was approximated to be over 3 hours long. To walk across a bridge. At this point, we decided we’d stand, since we paid for tickets and made it this far. After 30 minutes of standing in a line that moved 10 feet, we gave up and decided to walk down a trail to the car and leave. Had we wanted to go down the ski lift, we’d have to wait in another hour long line.
Nothing about our experience was worth the money this business is charging their customers. Not only is this bridge poorly managed, but the company is incredibly greedy, overselling the day by, what we approximate, thousands of tickets.
If you have young children, are elderly, or have any physical ailments, even of the slightest, avoid this place at all costs. You will be even more miserable than we were.
Here’s to a day of literally standing in lines...
Read moreHonestly, unless your in the area overnight and have ALL day to wait in lines, it's not worth it. Purchased tickets in advance to save $5 "recommended", only to realize we weren't going to end up using them after waiting several hrs. Either you walk or shuttle from parking to the village, then there's another long coral for the shuttle unless you want to walk another mile, then that takes you to another line to the lift which is awesome and beautiful, then the big line. Which was only exasperated by the one way on the bridge. So not including waiting for the bridge that was 2+ hrs for lines and shuttles, upon arrival it was atleast a 3+ as they were limiting access do to the "unexpected amt of people" (even tho after reading additional reviews sounds like it's more common than not they limit it to 1 way). They really need to have designated times for the bridge instead of an all day free for all. And bring snacks and drinks if you don't want to spend a wod on stuff there. We didn't want to even bother with the wait times going into one of the restaurants so we ended up using one of the food trucks at the top of the mountain. Thankfully there was a live musician during our experience that made it slightly more bearable. But still the costs were jacked up. Everything was individually priced, no combos, so basically spent an arm & a leg on a full meal for each person ($16 for a 4 oz over cooked shit burger!! 😡 If you eat at the vendors, the chicken tenders were pretty good but still $13 and the spicy fries were better than the regular still $7). And wear good supportive shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and standing in for long periods of time. Very dusty/sandy. All and all, spent close to $100 for 2 people entry fees (discounted btw!!) on tickets that we couldn't even use as a day trip is not long enough to budget unless your local. Your best bet, since they don't even check your ticket till you get to the skybridge I assume since they havent any employees basically, is ride the lifts up or walk if able, see the colors and ride/walk down for free. Esp on a weekend, would not recommend. Go find a mountain to hike instead, it'll be cheaper and far less people (easily close to a few THOUSAND people...
Read moreHi everyone today me and my friend went to the SkyBridge at Boyne Mountain today. It was a fantastic trip, The staff at the chairlift they were fine. We get up at the ski lift. Sidenote, there are many children like 12 years old the two girls in front of us. We're not having their safety latched on, and I thought they were gonna fall and hit them until themselves and I was getting scared for them. Then we walked to the SkyBridge and that's when we saw Justin. Justin greeted us with the biggest smile. Hi there can I see your tickets. Me and my friend were take him back. He was so kind. Absolutely you can take our tickets. so he scanned a tickets and he gave us the rules. He was very funny he said all right guys there's some rules I know you guys really wanna jump and you guys can't. There's a couple behind us, so I let him Justin scan their tickets then I'll persevered and ask him a question. I asked Justin if he could take a photo of us he said absolutely 100%. He told me that people always ask him for photos and that his photo skills are amazing and most times they end up on Instagram. So I took him up on his offer, and he did not disappoint who is very kind, he even stood on a chair to get some angles he did a 10 out of 10 maybe a 20 out of 10 he did a phenomenal job. And I kept saying, thank you, thank you thank you, and he kept saying my pleasure my pleasure my pleasure. I felt like I was at Chick-fil-A. It was amazing Chick-fil-A on a Saturday. Woo hoo. We walked over the sky bridge in, and it was amazing the views everything was amazing. On our way back over the bridge and our way back on her journey. We saw Justin. He's waved and smiled. Enjoy the rest of your day. Take care thank you Justin you take care too. now the photo I'm gonna post on Instagram.
