🤫 shhhh don’t tell anyone about my getaway spot šŸ˜šŸ˜‚ā€¦ šŸ˜šŸ’ž HONEST REVIEW… I love it here. Food’s so good you wanna smack yo momma. #treatyourself šŸ’Æ

Indie Film Fills the Seats While Studio Releases Flop – Marcus Theatre Should Pay Attention I saw Ballerina on opening day at Marcus Theatre in Country Club Hills—only seven people in the auditorium. Meanwhile, my own film, Tube-E Movie, recently played at the same theater and packed the house. As an independent filmmaker, I know firsthand that audiences show up when you offer something original. After that sold-out indie screening, I was shocked when Marcus Theatre’s private events team raised the rental rate by $300 and became harder to work with—despite their calendar being wide open. Major studio films are underperforming, yet indie filmmakers (who don’t even earn from concession sales) get hit with higher fees for bringing in actual crowds. Currently, The Accountant 2 is showing—even though it’s free to stream on Amazon. Why not support independent films that people are excited to see? If Marcus Theatre wants to survive in today’s market, it should embrace indie cinema, partner with local filmmakers, and rethink how it values real audience turnout. šŸŽ¬ Support Independent Film šŸŽŸļø Demand Better From Movie Theaters šŸæ Tube-E Movie proves people crave something new. #MarcusTheatre #TubeEMovie #IndieFilmSuccess #SupportIndieCinema #MovieTheaterProblems #BallerinaMovie #TheAccountant2 #ChicagoIndieFilm #FilmScreening #IndependentFilmmaker #TheaterRental

Theatre was not updated or the cleanest. Seats were old and torn, but they did recline. The theater itself was very small in comparison to other theaters I’ve visited. Popcorn wasn’t the best only overloaded with butter but was burnt. Plenty of free parking and they do have a restaurant and bar on location, I’m assuming to make up for the horrible movie theater. I didn’t eat any food I just came to enjoy a 6:00 showing of The Accountant 2. 3 Adult and 1 Senior ticket totaled about $61.00, I was in movie theater 6 and I will say the sound system was really loud especially being that the rooms were small

I am very patriotic of this theather until last night. I went in to buy tickets for Jumanji and observed looked to see if the police officers at the podium was checking bags. A few ladies with small hand bags went through no problem then there was one couple how had a nice size purse ( clearly bigger than the podium) that went in with no bag check. So I went out due to my movie beginning at 6:45 and it was only 5:45 at the time. When I came back in with the kids I view and ask the kids what they wanted from the concession stand and proceed to take our seats. Before that, I observed about 5 other women with nice size bags some bigger than the podium went in no problem. When getting to the check part the woman officer decide to pick me out to check my bag. I ask her why she haven't check any one else bag and why she decide to pick me out. She advise she wasn't so I told her no she will not look in my bag that I was uncontrollable with the search. I than went out to my car came back in before going the podium I observer no other bags to be check and a gentleman officer pulled me to the side to check my bag this time I felt harassed. I wanted to complain but I just brought tickets to a movie and I didn't want to waste my money I decide to watch the movie I put my things down and came back out to the consession stand and observed a young lady with a back pack was let through with no check and as well a lady with a big size designer bag went in with no bag check I got my popcorn and felt extremely bad and emotionally disturbed through the entire movie. I wasn't able to enjoy. I go out before the movie end and ask to speak to a manager the young lady brought me to the security and I explain to them (two gentlemen) what had happen he advise" it wasn't discrimation we all are black. " we just have our discretion. And we can't get to every one bag I explain to him "sir its 4 officers working on 5 bags in line she only check me and didn't check the woman with the bigger bag behind me." I than felt targeted. He explain " well didn't you go back out to the car to put what ever it was up" I said "yes but that was for my personal comfort. " I explain that I felt targeted and treated unfair he said we can't get to all the bag and we do our job the best way we can. I than told him I still wanted to speak with a manager I informed the manager of the situation and he apologize and said he will talk to them and ask if they could check all bags. This is what Is unsettling with me. If it's out side food they looking for I would have not put it in a bag I would put it in the coats. That's simple. So what I had in my bag was for my personal comfort. If was suppose to be made comfortable cas they was checking for guns, drugs or food. I was not put in any state of safety knowing at least 8 big bags was uncheck and had the risk of something could of brought danger to us all and I was harassed because the officer pin pointed me out to check my bag. I may have been going through a medical issue and wish to know had no man or woman to view the amount of medical bottles I had in my bag. Over all it was an embrassing situation I was put in. I felt I observe enogh information to comfortably bring in what I need with me in without having to be unrightly broadcast. I was observing to make that decision to Avoid that. And I was put in that situation and more. It is unfair and disturbing. I wish that no one to go through the harassment I went through last night. If it was much more I can do about...

My recent experience at the Marcus Theatre for the Twilight marathon was a mixed bag, leaving me with a 7/10 overall rating. While there were several impressive aspects, some customer service issues and minor inconveniences detracted from the experience.

From the outset, I was impressed with Marcus Theatre's organization. The pre-event research highlighted the convenient online food ordering system, and upon arrival, the staff efficiently guided us to a designated area for marathon attendees. We received a detailed itinerary, complete with movie times, intermission schedules, coupons for discounted popcorn and refills, and a menu with a QR code for online ordering. The theater itself was clean, and I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the restrooms.

The movie viewing experience was also excellent. However, the positive aspects were offset by some service shortcomings. As the theater grew warmer throughout the day, I inquired with an employee about the temperature. Unfortunately, the response I received gave me the impression that I was bothering them, and the issue was not addressed. The food ordering process also presented some challenges. We had pre-ordered wraps with fries and ranch dressing. I upgraded my fries to onion rings and intended to also order a side of marinara sauce. I overheard another customer being told they would have to pay extra for marinara with their mozzarella sticks, even though the menu indicated it was included. When I inquired about the marinara for my onion rings, one employee told me it was free and to get it at the food pickup counter. However, at the counter, a different employee insisted I had to purchase it, then begrudgingly gave it to me after I explained the previous conversation. My husband's wrap was also missing its side of ranch dressing. When I asked for it, the employee said they were out, again with an attitude. I chose not to argue further.

Furthermore, the kitchen staff's conversations were somewhat unprofessional. While I understand casual chatter, I could clearly hear discussions about getting drunk and romantic interests, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. Finally, while the wraps themselves were tasty, they weren't fully wrapped, causing them to fall apart while eating in the dimly lit theater.

Despite these issues, I would likely return to Marcus Theatre. The initial organization and the cleanliness of the facilities were definite positives. However, I hope that management will address the customer service issues and the kitchen staff's professionalism to create a more consistently...

I always see this place when I hit the road, heading out of town for a trip. From I-57, it looks like a nice place to catch a show. I’m a premiere member with AMC, and I was looking to check out a different theater chain. Today, I decided to check it out and watch a matinee showing of Black Panther on the Ultra screen. Here are the positives I took away from my visit. The ticket price is the first. Ticket prices here are about $4 less than what I pay at my regular spot and that was a nice surprise. The second is the space of the theater. I was very impressed with the size of the theater and spacing of the seats. The seats having that extra little tilt were nice too. That’s about all I can give as a positive for this place. So here are the negatives. First negative. I ordered my tickets online. I thought I would be able to walk in show the ticket on my phone and that was it. No. Apparently, you can’t get past the ticket person, unless you have a physical ticket of some type. So even if you purchased your ticket online, you have to stand in a line for a kiosk to get a receipt of your ticket, which the ticket person will actually rip in half. I don’t understand why the ticket person just can’t scan your ticket off the phone and send you on your way. Second negative, there were three kiosks by the front entrance. Two didn’t work, and of course there was a line. Figure in Murphy’s Law, and you have a situation where this process is way much longer than what it should be. So walking in the door your patience is tested. Third negative. The concession counter was probably the most frustrating. Apparently there were two lines, but there was no order to it. You just had a large gathering of people slowly moving forward. The employees didn’t appear to be moving to expedite orders. Given the number of people in the line, one would think other registers would open, but that wasn’t the case. I watched a couple of trailers then went back to grab some food, thinking the line would have died down. No. It was about the same. I waited and when I got to the counter, customer service was lacking, and the selection isn’t all that great. I’ll just leave it there. Forth negative. The bathroom was way too small. Fifth negative. I grabbed a Marcus card off the table to possibly register online for the perks, but I say a strand of hair attached to the card, so I left the card there.

Really tried to keep a positive outlook, but I don’t think I’ll be going back. For a few bucks more, you get better service and attitudes from the AMC spot I...
