Caribbean Jerk Palace — Restaurant in Bremen Township

Let me first say that I have this place a chance to redeem themselves. I stopped by yesterday around 12:30 since I was coming from an event in Chicago I decided to stop and get something I can’t get close to home.(I live in Minooka so that you have a better understanding ) I chose this place because I have had the food on multiple occasions and it’s always good and fresh however I’ve never eaten at this particular location. I ordered the salmon dinner with yams and Mac n cheese. As well as a 6 piece jerk wings. When I got home I took a couple bites of the salmon and it was crusty, the top layer was hard and it was a lil chewy vs flaky so It’s my belief that it was over cooked. The yams were cold the Mac n cheese was room temperature but the rice and beans were still warm. Now I live about 35 min from this place but hear me out, I would think the sides would have some temperature consistency so I figured they were serving yesterdays sides and had not heated them up completely however they tasted ok so that wasn’t a big deal for me. Oh and the wings were really small but any who. I called to let the young lady know my dilemma about the The salmon, and she asked me to bring it back now as stated previously I was riding through on my way home. That’s the only reason I stopped to get food, so I really didn’t want to go back and drive 35 minutes to take the food back and 35 more minutes back home. So she asked me to bring it back the next day, because I knew I had to go back to Chicago for my church second service I said OK. Now I accidentally left the saved salmon sitting on my counter this morning, so on my way from church, I Stopped to get the salmon replaced, She asked me where the food was and I told her I left it at home. She proceeded to go on the back and came back and said she couldn’t replace it without seeing the food first so I FaceTimed my 8 yr old daughter so that I can let her see it to prove it was never eaten etc. after showing her the food whomever in the back decided to replace it. Now I understand some people mess complaints up for others but My problem lies in the fact that I drove back this way, and still had to prove that I did not eat the food even though they knew I was taking a long ride to get here and the fact that I did not get to enjoy my entire meal on yesterday, so I never even finished the sides and I came all the way back out here to get my food replaced and all they gave me was a piece of salmon. I know some may say well that’s what I complained about but I personally feel like they should’ve replaced my meal to its entirety considering I had to come all the way back up here for 1, 2 in the rain, 3 again it’s far from me. Lastly I was going to purchase more food today because my family wanted it for dinner but after the way I was serviced I decided to keep my coins and I will never visit this location again. I do believe the way that cook the salmon at this location needs some work cause it looks a lil better today but it’s still over cooked. I’m really disappointed and hope some changes are made because I really like to see black owned business thrive as I’m a business owner myself. 1 last thing, the lobby needs to be cleaned up.

I’ve never done this before, and so I’m a bit nervous because I don’t want any backlash. I was so appalled that I HAD to write a review. I was picking up lunch or maybe an early dinner after leaving base for drill but I really wish I had not gone here! The food smelled good, but absolutely did not taste good, my chicken was undercooked but it was caked with probably a glass bottle of pre-made jerk sauce 😫 since I ordered a 6-wing dinner, I was able to choose 2 sides. I chose cabbage and plantains . The cabbage not only tasted like canned cabbage, but whatever they seasoned the cabbage with or cooked it in, tasted like campbell’s chicken noodle soup 🤢… not to say Campbell’s is bad, but when you’re eating cabbage, you expect it to taste like cabbage.. I didn’t even try the plantains, because I was just too nervous and didn’t want to be disappointed again . All of the dinners come with rice and peas, but for some reason, my rice was way below tray level and drenched with artificial gravy. How do I know it was artificial, because it had that commercial dark gravy color and it was too thin - everything about it was commercialized. Like I said, my chicken was undercooked. You can tell undercooked chicken because it was tough to pull apart from the bone - AND THEN they set the wings in the drenched with gravy “rice and peas”. If I wanted jerked gravy wings, I would’ve ordered that, is all I’m saying. This restaurant makes me think of Americans trying their hardest to make Caribbean food, but not doing so well…it appears the restaurant is currently undergoing a transition (BTW, it used to be named Kingston’s)…maybe this was just a bad day for them…🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ man of man, y’all just don’t even know how disappointed I am. Wasted $27 and still gotta find something to eat…...

I order two dinners a half white and a oxtail dinner… I sent mom to pick the food up before she went to work….Once I received the food, my large oxtail dinner was Burt and not edible I tried to take a bite and it wasn’t even chewable… I immediately call to speak to the manager the Girl yes Girl because apparently she wasn’t not trained properly on how to talk to people less alone customers. She became rude and frustrated when I keep explain what was wrong with my food and I asked for a manager. She then passed the phone to a guy by the name of Steven who said he could help. Steven indicated to me to tell whom ever at the front that I spoke with him and that I’m old a large oxtail dinner with two sides. So I sent my mom back today granite is been a week since I ordered the food. I wanted to pick up the replacement order just for someone to tell me that Steven had no say so and telling me that my order could be replaced Because he’s not a manager he’s just a cashier part of the management team reached out to the owner and the only resolution was for me to spend more money on food that I was not able to eat… I want be going back here to support this establishment, which is sad because as a business they should want provide a good resolution for their Patriots… I spent over $60.00 to have half...
