It's my first day of summer vacation. I received a Sephora gift card from a friend for my birthday and went with my daughter to check out some fun summertime fragrances. There were some we hadn't experienced yet from a specific brand, and we are very busy during the school year. So today was the day. Mother daughter fun trip vibes. We were directed by a helpful employee from the front of store smaller brand display to the larger brand shelf on the back wall. Soon after (2-3 minutes) an employee came over and gave us the up and down and then stood at the register looking at us off and on, not ringing anyone up, but just staying there. I'd picked up what I wanted and began looking at the samples. Said employee still hanging by the register watching us. Uncomfortable, I went to look at some other things and then we made our way to the fragrance wall on the side of the store. We sprayed and sniffed several of them. My daughter kept nervously looking around. I followed her gaze to Guess Who peeking over a display to watch us again. Then she came over and asked directly if we needed a fragrance today. I said we were looking at them to see if we wanted any. I was upset now and walked away from that spot with my daughter. I thought that if I was approached again I would just leave. So, I opted to cut the visit short and walked back to the register. The same employee appeared after a minute. I told her I felt rushed. She said, "I'm sorry you felt that way, why did you feel that way?" I explained what she did with peeking at us then asking if we wanted a fragrance today. She said, "I wasn't trying to make you feel rushed. Then something about how they have the fragrances in boxes somewhere else if we had wanted one. I said, "Well, you did," She said, "I am not going to argue with you," I replied, "There's no need to argue." She then rang me up, updated my phone number in my Insider account, and gave me my birthday perk. So, on the surface and with the right words she looks like she was just doing her job and in fact did more than she needed to do. But, her tone, demeanor, positioning, following and then arguing made myself and my daughter uncomfortable. Upon leaving, my daughter asked if she treated us that way because we look poor. Fun...

However, we were not greeted as we walked in, a couple of the employees walked by with nothing to say and one of the employees followed me around like a was going to steal something (a tall brunette) without ever asking me if I needed help. Plus the employees pushed myself and another client out of the way when some guy walked in and wanted to see the new Lady Gaga cosmetics. He either works there or previously worked there. Very snotty employees, living up to the stereo-type employee profile of Sephora. I always visit the Freehold store and always have great interactions there. I will continue to go to Freehold in the future. It's a shame the customer interactions are so negative for such a beautiful...
Read moreTrina is an absolute sweetheart! I went in to purchase a travel sized tatcha moisturizer but they didn’t have it. So instead she helped to show me a few different vegan, all natural skin care products. I told her I’m picky about my skincare and prefer oil free, natural products. She introduced me to the Farmacy line and explained to me how each product works, the ingredients and she even went on to explain to me the background story of the company and what they use to create their products. They salvage farmer grown foods that will go to waste to create their all natural skin care. I honestly can not wait to start using these products!...
