Large waterfront park with lots of grassy areas, jogging/walking paths, two baseball diamonds and some basketball courts.
A few nice sculptures and some fact posters around the park. It was very quiet (only a few cars) there when I visited on a Friday, mid-morning.
Lots of parking spaces but non-Norwalk residents must pay the $6 parking fee to park at all time. Parking can be paid using the ParkMobile app.
Might be more worth it for locals who come regularly to jog/walk...but I can't say the $6 fee is worth it for visitors unless they have other interested there...i.e....
Read moreThe playground is nice for kids, but it would be really helpful if they added either some umbrellas by the benches or planted some trees to have some shade available. Grandparents or people who can't be in the sun for a long time will have a hard time watching the kids playing. Also the benches will be very hot from the sun, so no one can sit down on them.
Whoever designs these playgrounds either doesn't have young children or forgot what it's like to have little kids. They got rid of some trees at the playground from Calf Pasture Beach, too, and kids can't enjoy it as...
Read moreVeteran's Park of Norwalk CT is a pretty nice place but I could be much, much better. The parking is free for Norwalk residents only. The park itself seems relatively unkempt. The asphalt is full of holes, cracks, uneven areas and missing in some areas. The sidewalk is a beaten, rocky path that is full of litter and junk. There is also, to me, a lack of tall and full trees. There are quite a few but they seem to be nowhere near enough to keep people cool in the summer. There are a couple of picnic table, emphasis on "a couple". The city should start taking...
