Veterans Park — Attraction in Brighton

VETERANS PARK! This is my favorite place to access the plate river. I never need an excuse to come here. The problem is once I'm here I never want to leave . For me it's a place to just meditate and reflect on life to gain clarity ; however, I only allow 1 hour for this the rest of my time I only think about the rocks I see and it is a great beach extremely clean and I am often there alone . There is a pathway that leads to another little park I believe that is on Miller Ave ..There is a wonderful playground for the kids with a large Zilophone and a great slide .There is a great covered area with I think 4 large picnic tables and a barbeque. There is a large grassy area almost the size of a football green or maybe it's as big which is kept beautiful .The restrooms are well maintained a big shout out to the parks people who do a great job at keeping this park in pristine condition . What more can I say? I love this place, and you and your kids will 7to Come on down and take time away from your phones and computers and experience nature here you will get addicted to...

Took the dogs here for a nice walk. Headed North along the trail till we found a spot to crossover the the bank of the river. It was pretty and the weather was great. Dog had a great time playing in the mud so we walked up the river to find a place to throw him in to rinse the poor guy off a bit before he gets back in my car. Up the river a bit we came across a group of guys smoking a joint. That cool up the river we walk until the dogs alert us to a campsite in the ruff area next to the river. Now I don't think these were boy scouts looked a bit more long term. So we turned around got back to the trail and headed out. Stopped there to let my kid play on the jungle gym that is there. The jungle gym itself is nice for kids. However, I felt like I had to keep my head on a swivel. There were a lot of random vehicles in the parking lot. For only a couple of other families walking around and using the park, there was a disproportionate amount of vehicles parked in the parking lot and people just sitting in their cars. Is a popular place for people to just park and sit? There aren't pretty views to look at. For that reason, I'll go back when it isn't the weekend and there are fewer...
