Lunchtime In line at the checkout there are about 15 people in line with me and there's only one person at the register. So all the customers start asking whats going on loudly and three ladies come out the office incl the store manager and loudly declares, "Im on my break, and im busy." So she says, "i'll take the next person but not anyone who had something to say." I step to the counter and she tried to dismiss me, and tell me that I have to wait bc I had a comment. everyone in the store was pissed at her rudeness. At that point, I realized this arrogant Black woman wearing designer was in a power struggle w/a a 53 yr old Black man on his break and wanted to embarrass me over petty things I had 3 items totalling less than four dollars she refused to ring me up. I left four dollars cash on the register and as i walked out, she says, "I'm shoplifting" She is wrong, the cameras saw me put the cash down and leave. Then she played like im some thief and tried to follow me to my Mercedes while faking on the phone with 911 and trying to get my plates. As if Im some petty perp lol in an E-class sedan. So petty, so rude. So typical of the dollar tree in brooklawn NJ. Everytime im there, only one register is open and no one cares. Poor Management due to the lady I described herein. This is not the first complaint against that woman, look in the reviews below. She needs to be reprimanded, demoted and/or transferred! How can someone represent a company and be so bitter?! the greatest asset of a company is its employess but not in her case. I've consulted many Fortune 500 companies and manage my own business enties and I was taught to treat everyone from the Janitor to the CEO with the same respect.

So this is an update on 9/14/2025
She filed charges against me for disturbing the peace with Brooklawn police and they also gave me a traffic ticket. Im no longer permitted to shop there. I never planned on ever returning to that location anyway. How is this Disturbing the piece is what I’d like to know. Corporate has been notified on the company website as well as legal representation about...
Read moreI was in Dollar Tree last night & was in line waiting to check out. During this time I witnessed another customer who was ahead of me, throw her basket on the counter and demand that the cashier empty her basket for her. It was at this time that the cashier (very politely) informed the customer that she didn't do that, & that it was up to the customer to empty her own items. The customer had gotten enraged & started causing a scene in the store. She was hollering rude things to the cashier & causing such a fuss that her own children walked away from her! I understand people may have bad days, but in no way, shape, or form should a grown woman act like this. I go to this particular store quite often & have never had a problem with the employees that work here. Everyone is always nice & helpful. Just because you are a customer does not always make you right, and how that poor woman was treated was an outrage! An apology was definately called for in this situation! Thank you again Brooklawn Dollar Tree employees for...
Read moreI give it 1 star because of the leadership and professionalism of the manager. The staff was excellent and helped me with a balloon I didn't purchase there but was willing to pay for. The gentleman there gladly helped me out and then the lady manager berated them in front of me and my 7 yr old son who was coincidentally celebrating his birthday that day, March 17th. My son, who is 7 mind you, said the obvious out loud, "dad that lady was rude." She then took it upon herself to correct my son in the same manner she did the employees here. I had to jump in and discourage the back and forth with a small child. She then began to continue on until we (my in laws, son amd myself) finally left the store. Her last remarks after I said I would call corporate was that I should and that she couldn't care less. I hope, should anyone ever frequent that place again, they have a better experience...
