Valvoline Instant Oil Change — Attraction in Brookline

Very busy Brookline-ite. When i saw this place, I saw heaven in a shop as my busy life deprives my four-wheel beauty of timely maintenance. Been there once for oil change. I expected ace level services and expected to pay double for it. It was clean and fast, but leider not a sweet encounter. Staff were inexperienced in making sale pitches without the (coming on too hard) Vibe. No biggy. Not easy to staff places in very educated neighborhoods. Prices being x4 the usual unfortunately a deal breaker.. High overhead or not, just For me, unfortunately, too much. All said, However, I will go today in early am to get a battery. Need to be at work in 75-mile-away Cape Cod in 15 minutes!! Lol. If they do pull off a Fabulous customer service and satisfaction game, to a level needed by an overworked young dad in a two partner working and young bored active kids, the Prevalent Brookline type, then I will give a high star A+ review - UNLESS THE RESPOND TO THIS INFO GOLD-MINE REVIEW WITH the usual LAME Automatic response........ I went to this Valvoline for an oil change and tire rotation. After they completed my tire rotation I was told there was a nail in my tire and I needed to go to a tire shop ASAP to get it repaired. I IMMEDIATELY went to a tire shop down the road from the Valvoline and when that tire shop tried to remove my tire they found that the lugs were misaligned on the studs and had been over tightened to the point that, in order to repair my tire, they needed to break the lugs and studs off. When I reached out to Valvoline to get reimbursed for the lugs/studs that had to be replaced due to their mistake of misaligning/over tightening I was immediately dismissed by the manager and was told there was “no way” they were misaligned or tightened. I have now tried to get in touch with the regional manager who has not called me back after almost a week of trying. I think this is terrible business practice. Maybe they can do a quick oil change but they messed up my tire, tried to gaslight me into thinking they didn’t do anything wrong, and now will not get back to me. I will never go to Valvoline again if this is how they...

I was in a complete panic yesterday when I realized my car needed an oil change. I can’t believe I’m going to post this publicly, but it was due at the end of 2022 and I it just didn’t register in my brain that I needed to get this taken care of. I was so nervous and called the dealer and they told me get one right away and then I could bring it in to have everything checked. I ended up going to Valvoline on Boylston St., Brookline and explained what happened. I was so embarrassed how much time had gone by. I pulled into Valvoline and Damian and spoke with Damian. He could not have been nicer or more reassuring. I told him I want them to do whatever my car needs instead of just doing everything and charging me a fortune he took the time to explain each service before they went ahead and performed the service. He also applied some coupons for me because I did have quite a few things done to my car. I would never take the time to write a review about unless someone really stands out and Damian definitely does.
