Tried out Ridge Park due to Cinemark's new policy to outlaw real popcorn salt in favor of iodized (little salt pellets just don't stick to popcorn, Cinemark; they just don't stick.) Right from Ridge Park's door, I began longing for my unsalted Cinemark popcorn. On a Friday night, when the movie going crowd is out in droves, one lonely ticketeer sits in her booth, frantically going back and forth from the customer in front of her and her Twitter feed. I can handle long lines- even expect them on a Friday night. But I, at the very least, need for that line to follow some sort of logical order and plan. The way that the entry is set up, you simply walk into a throng of people; some of which are in a sort of line in front of the booth, some of which are going for the automated machine, some of which are just shooting the breeze with their friends, and some of which (like me) are completely confused as to which one they are. I began jumping up and down with my debit card in my hand like I was at a baseball game trying to be the one who catches the foam ball being thrown into the crowd. To no avail. I ended up thinking I was in the booth line, but saw a gap up the seam toward an automated booth. I busted a spin move on an old lady (she was fine and my son helped her up), and I got my tickets. Then we entered into an all new chamber of hell; concessions. I was originally somewhat optimistic, as now there were 2 employees manning the battle stations, but I quickly realized that one was dedicated to the "members" line and it would only be little Cindy Lou vs. the 40 or so people in our line. The thought crossed my mind to skip concessions and just go into my about-to-start movie, but let's not be ridiculous. 30 minutes later, I sat in my seat and it didn't recline! A tear streamed down my cheek. My son convinced me to be "that guy" and get up in front of everyone to change seats (his chair didn't work either. Curse you C11 and C12). In the end, the popcorn was good and salty, as was the movie. But still, I stand here in line at Giant Eagle, purchasing popcorn salt which I will place firmly in my pocket for my next movie trip, which will be...
Read moreDriving through here is a bit crazy! I like going to Lowe's, Bath and Body Works and Menchie's sometimes. But driving in that area (since it's coming right off and on the expressway) can be frustrating at times. I will only go out there if I absolutely need to go to Lowe's.
Once you get into the parking lot areas where the Menchie's, McDonalds and movie theater are be careful because you can only go one way in some spots, and some people don't follow those rules. OR they cut across the parking lot to get to the other side of the lot without thinking about the fact they could hit someone else. I just don't like the set up and I'm not sure why they configured it that way.
There's a new store going up there soon that will sell clothes for less and home goods, I believe it's called Ross's. It may be worth checking out if I have to stop by Lowe's again! I'd say go there if you need something, but don't go out...
Read moreWent to the UPS store to send back a package. I had taken a screenshot of the shipping label before I left the house so that I would have it. I tried to access my phone for it at the store, and WI Fi wasn't available. Why don't stores such as this have a guest password available to use? I needed it to forward the label to them. They offered no help with this situation at all. Finally, I went outside and was able to connect to another businesses WI FI. Thank goodness, because I needed to get this done. Going back inside, I waited my turn again. The one female employee reluctantly helped me at this point. I had assured her that I had successfully forwarded the label over. She printed it out and placed it on the package. I was glad to get this done. Customer service really goes a long way and can make for a better experience for everyone. Unfortunately, a few of those employees need to work on...
