Cabot Mill Antiques in Brunswick, Maine, is a 16,000 square foot antique center inside the historic Fort Andross mill on the Androscoggin River. With more than 160 dealers, it has become a major destination for collectors and casual shoppers alike.
The mill itself reflects Brunswick’s long history along the river. Once a site for trading posts and later for textile manufacturing, the building’s preservation and reuse connects the town’s industrial past with its present-day economy. Inside, exposed brick, beams, and high windows frame rows of antiques ranging from furniture to folk art.
The story of Cabot Mill Antiques is also the story of adaptive reuse in New England. Originally run by the Cabot Manufacturing Company in the 19th century, the building now thrives as a marketplace where history is not only preserved but bought and sold. It stands as both a commercial hub and a living reminder of Brunswick’s layered past. #antiqueshopping #brunswickme #maineantiques...
Read moreDo your research and BE AWARE this place is mostly geared towards tourists. While you can spot a unique find here and there, the amount of fake antiques and grossly mislabeled items is astonishing. I asked one of the women about a table and she claimed she knew nothing about antiques. Instead of offering to leave a note for the seller, the customer service women said I could take pictures and show them to “someone who knows about antique furniture”. Avoid this place...
Read moreI wish I could give this place a good review, but I can’t. Initially, I was excited to see their selection and in the market for some specific antiques. When I arrived, I was sneered at by the woman behind the desk, and then promptly ignored the ENTIRE time I was there. Even when I asked someone for help to view something in one of the cases. I ended up leaving without buying a single thing. I don’t understand why I would be treated this way, especially when there was literally one other customer in the store. It wasn’t...
