Bird's Nest Gifts and Antiques — Attraction in Bryan

I was racially targeted and discriminated against in this antique store. I am from out of town (houston) and came down to college station/Bryan to visit some of my friends from A&M. Our favorite things to do are explore thrift/antique stores and so I we made a list and got going. I never have Had ANYTHING like this happen to me in my life and I am so disgusted that store owners/ people in general are like this. I was with my friend exploring this over priced hobby lobby "antique" store and we we went upstairs to check out more stuff before the store closes. Everything in here is very overpriced and I really wouldn't call it a genuine antique store. There are "vintage-like" products sprinkled in with some actual antique pieces. I went upstairs with my friend and started just browsing. The Caucasian lady/owner/ manager/ staff (not sure who she was) came up the stairs frantically and was shouting to call the police, and that she had everything on tape. She comes up to me, which shocked me, because I never touched anything in the store and because I didn't steal, and never would. She comes up to frantically ( I am a short Hispanic girl in my mid 20's) and accuses me of STEALING. I set down my wallet, keys and iphone. I show her I have nothing in my pockets, I take of my sweater, lift my shirt, show her I HAVE NOTHING, showing her I didn't steal and I told her she can check me because I know for a fact I didn't take anything nor had nothing on me. I LOVE IT HERE!!!! I am a former student (majored in Neuroscience) and came here on my day off of work. If i didnt major in neuro, I definitely would have majored in entomology, because i LOVE BUGS SM. The first thing I see when I enter?—ENTOMOLOGY GIFTS GALORE AND BUG SPECIMENS!!!!! If I didnt have such a busy day I would have spent ALL DAY in there. There is an upstairs too and it is SO COOL. There are so many nooks and crannies full of stuff to look at and buy. This business carries Annie Sloan Chalk paint. I was needing a Bright Gold Guilding paste which was not available in my immediate area. I called and they had one in stock and offered to hold it for me. I called back a couple of hours later and the put it aside for me. I went to pick up the paste and browsed their shop. The have a charming shop with small and large items that are old, repurposed, and a few new items. They also stock Iron Orchid stamps, stencils, and transfers. I was told they have a website with demos. I am excited to view those on the website. This shop is worth the visit to poke around to see what jumps into your arms...
