Update: Decided to try again after a year because we were invited out. Seems like they're getting it together. Beer flavors were better, pizza crew really seemed to have the hang of it also! Minus one star for the high prices, but we were pleasantly surprised at our latest visit!
-- We had such high hopes on our way to try the beer at Kinder Hill. We had 3 different beers, the blue raspberry sour, stratosphere, and pog slammer. All 3 we choked down to be kind. The strat and pog tasted very similar, shallow in flavor and BITTER (we drink beer and know bitter... This was too far). The sour blue raspberry sour tasted like light beer with fake sour blue raspberry flavor, interesting, but no depth.
The absolute worst part was the bill! Beers are 7-8$ each and tiny cocktails were $9 dollars!! Insane. Reasonable prices are expected at a local brewery on a Sunday afternoon. We'd happily pay it for stellar beer, but it's simply subpar.
Music bingo was fun! I'll give them that! Atmosphere is cool now that the weather is tolerable.
Pizza was good, but did not live up to the hype for a company who was featured on the news with excellent reviews. Crust was too thin, soaked through with grease, and very soggy. The oven needs to be cleaned out, as there were burned pieces from other food items all over the bottom of the pizza and on the crust. Like little bits of black soot (not talking about the delicious burned spots that are supposed to be there).
Probably won't return unless some changes are made. Disappointing because we were trying to find new places to hang...
Read moreI’m sorry the new pizza is not good. It’s all bread, like 85% bread. The cheese and sauce is fine but for aesthetics (I guess) there’s only one little strip of sauce, so the rest is just cheese bread. Of our group of friends 10-ish, one person liked it. All the positive reviews are from the old kinder hill location pizza. We also got a hummus plate- the bread and dip were fine, but the carrots were slimy and tangy- like they’d been in water way too long. We also got the Parasol banana cocktail- for as many ingredients as it has, it tasted like nothing. The price wasn’t too bad at $31, but I wouldn’t ever want this food again. The old kinderhill pizza was significantly better. If I were to use words to describe the music playlist it would be: schizophrenic, annoying and terrible. Spice girls, total eclipse of the heart, just weird and...
Read moreThis quaint craft biergarten is the first of it's kind (to my knowledge) in the B/CS area and it's already great. I had the prickly pear gose which was super fruity and just the right tartness. YMMV, their taps cycle frequently! The pint was $8 w/ tax and tip which is admittedly steep for the area but not unreasonable IMO given that it's a small & local operation and I enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed 2 domestic draft pints at a bar at close to the same price. The music was classic rock at the perfect volume to be able to enjoy conversation. The Wild Garlic wood fired pizza has a residency of sorts here which is a great combo. I had the "Back in Black" pizza which had great fresh tomato flavor and a nice crispy wood fire crust. All the service was fast and friendly.
I'll...
