Cookery Ware Shop — Attraction in Buckingham Township

The store itself is wonderful - loved the variety. I did not like how I was treated by the staff. I presented a gift certificate that I had received for my birthday. When they couldn’t find the tag in their pile associated with the certificate (their fault for sorting things wrong), an older woman refused to let me leave the store, essentially accusing me of fraud for using a gift certificate that a dear friend had given me. It was not in any way my fault that their system for sorting associated tags was to put them all on a pile in a basket near the register. When I asked for an apology, the woman laughed and said “well you understand” and actually, no. I don’t. I will not ever come back. As soon as we walked in I heard one of the ladies behind the counter say “did those Indian people just leave without buying anything?” None of my business so I just continued looking at all the cool stuff they offer. About 10 minutes later my boyfriend said he needed to use the restroom so I said go ahead, I’ll meet you outside, I’m still looking. When he walked out the same women says “did they just leave without buying anything” in a super snarky tone. I then made my presence known and she was shocked I was still in the store. I have been going to this store for 35 years and usually buy something every time. However today the owner or manager went on a rage about people bringing pets into her store. She said after today she will be posting a sign that no pets are allowed. I will not be supporting them in the future.

We have a small dog that does pet therapy and is the most chill dog you could meet and she was going on about how it might bite someone. The dog was in my husband’s arms.

Most stores at Peddlers Village are very pet friendly and even have water bowls out for dogs. So just know to not bring your dog into this store or they might ridicule and embarrass...
