Some stuff is outrageously marked up, other items are a good deal. Just depends what youāre there for. Quite stoked about their extensive bulk selection, which is tucked away in back & they have almost anything you could want. The kombucha selection & fresh sprouts are also excellent & the people working there are A+. ā¤ļø Itās a good little corner market if you need a few specific things, and if youāre thoughtful about it, you can come away without getting really gouged - which, contrary to the one dude who said theyāre more expensive than NYC co-ops, idk, theyāre def not more expensive than Washington state co-ops, or ones Iāve been to in Maine & Vermont, but way more expensive than those in Oregon. Most things are more expensive outside of rural Oregon, however, because most civilized places pay above $8.50/hr - I donāt know what Maineās excuse is. Maybe thereās more competition in NYC driving down the prices, but youād think rent costs & higher wages would override that. Regardless, I go here when Iām in town. They have some things that no one else does at better prices & often quality. And Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the most expensive co-op I've ever been to. It's More expensive than similar shops in NYC. They seem to be actively price gouging on prepared foods. Medium soup? 8 bucks. A very small container of rice pudding? 7 dollars! Prices are easily higher than Whole Foods. Even luxury items like grass fed milk, a solid 2 dollars higher price point than the exact same product at River Valley Co-op. What happened to giving needy rural communities access to healthy food? Wasn't that the point? Where did the community mission go? Abusive price scheming, targeting a low income rural community with few...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMcCusker's Market is a true gem in the Shelburne Falls Village! Awesome selection of all the local and natural goods you need. The greatest part is much of the fresh produce there in season comes directly from local farms. A true local resource. I was totally bummed when they discontinued freshly-made sandwiches though. That was my favorite part of the experience. I hope that the owners may see this and consider reopening the fresh sandwich department in the future. š Keep up the good work either way! Love this market and everything about Franklin County,...
