First off the Lap top Guy was very nice and respectful.
That said, I have had to use these guys three times now for my PC, and it has been nothing but a bad experience each and every time. Avoid this place at all cost. I don't want to go into all the details, but just to name a couple problems I had with these guys I will tell you a little. I had them build me two computers. First computer, they put it together and assured me all I have to do is go home and turn it on. I purchased all the parts from them in their store. I took the machine home, and I live in Shoreline, 35 minutes away if there is no traffic. (no traffic in Seattle I wish) I get home and the machine does not work. I take it back that same day, and I get a service rush charge applied to have them finish the job and get my machine running like it was already supposed to. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I did not argue.
Second machine, I ordered all my parts from new egg and Amazon and let them open and install all the components. I was thinking maybe the last experience was my fault somehow. I was advised to purchase another version of windows 7 home premium for my new i7 3970x with 32g RAM. They installed the parts in the machine and I waited. The worker Named "Frank" made me feel like I was not worth his time or something. Even after the thousands of dollars I spent there he made me feel not wanted at the place of business, very uncomfortable. Nothing he actually said, very loud body language, and facial expressions. (huffy puffy punk attitude)
After I got my machine and drove home. Again the machine did not turn on and work like I was promised and re-assured before I left. I called and told them the problem, and I was told I would have to pay another rush fee to get the machine running. This was less then an hour after I pulled out of the parking lot with what I was assured was a working machine. UNACCEPTABLE!
The copy of windows they sold me does not support 32 G RAM and they would not return my software since it was opened. My 3.0 USB ports do not work at all and I have a x79 Sabertooth board, so I know it is not the board. There are other problems, but I don't want this to get to out of hand. I am basically disappointed all around.
All in all I found another store I did not know existed on bothell everett HWY and I took my machine to them. It did cost me another 500 dollars at this new store, but everything worked like it was supposed to when I left. The 500 included ESET anti virus, Win 7 Professional, Malware bytes, and the rush service.
As a director of 3D production, these guys got me into difficult situations a few times sending me back with equipment that did not work like it was supposed to. I feel they took advantage of me too. I will never use these guys again, and I am posting so my experience never happens to...
Read moreI bought a real good HP Desktop at Costco in 2018. $600 on sale, tower only. Performance issues came up later, computer began running awful. A little after a year the warranty ran out, I got the total run around from their extended warranty 800 number which they want to try to talk you into repairing your own computer over the phone. Rude, interrupting, dominating CSR at their 800 number. Costco's warranty is a joke! I went to a computer repair place in Renton. After 5 days and wanting a $55 payment up front for an assessment, they emailed me saying they could fix it for $450 plus my $55 already paid. So by now i'm getting really upset by all this nonsense. Picked up my computer from this rip off place. It sat for 2 months at my desk unusable . Totally discouraging. I looked for a better repair place, talked to a lot of people. And then I found COMPUTER SONICS! I read all these reviews and thought if there is any decent place around Seattle Tacoma, this has got to be it. Last Monday, I brought it in, and HAMID THE MAN! was there and right away tore into my computer! He said with what I was telling him my issues were, he was sure it needed a new hard drive, and explained to me the new upgrade now available in the last year. He quoted me $180 and said he could have it done in 2 days. less than 48 hours later, he called me and said its ready, and told me what a great computer it is. The bill came to $180. This computer hammers the speed and performance now; unbelievable performance better than new! Do yourself a favor and take your computer repairs to COMPUTER SONIC. Trust me, you will be...
Read moreHamid and Rachel are the best. As a "seasoned" citizen I so appreciate a place I can take my computer concerns that is close by, with easy parking in a safe area. Hamid has been keeping my laptop and desktops running for several years. I have been happy with every experience. What I love most is that he recently repaired my favorite laptop which I thought was going to need replacing .Aside from the expense, I dreaded the whole process of purchasing a new one, learning all the ins and outs etc. Hamid was so kind and patient, listening to my needs and the quirky stuff that was going on with my "granny" laptop. It took awhile to get the glitches fixed, but now I am happily typing away on a machine that starts up quickly, no longer dies on me, has Windows 11 installed and has a new battery so I can more easily use it when I'm doing recipes in the kitchen. AND it didn't cost me half my social security check! His prices are fair and I feel I can trust him to take care of my needs without padding the bill. Computer Sonics is an asset to...
