Tarpley Music — Attraction in Burleson

WOW! I'm a bit of newbie to the whole music world and have not had the best experiences at some of the "corporate" music stores. This place was like a breath of fresh air! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, very impressive store and most importantly I was treated like a new friend instead of "another mid-life crisis guitar player". Kaylee assisted me before my visit and then Kevin helped me at the store. I was interested in one particular guitar they had in stock (the only place in DFW that had it) and when I arrived Kevin had it completely set up and ready to try out! I'm 50+ so I actually remember what real customer service is and apparently these people do as well. Kevin was a true pleasure to deal with and did not make me feel like a "sales target". I bought the guitar and could not be happier with the whole experience. I drove an hour to get there and would do it again. Keep up the good work and thank you...

UPDATE: The manager came next door in Hobby Lobby and found us to apologize. He was very kind and frustrated that that had been our experience in his store. He did not ask me to post the update, in fact told me it was unnecessary, but that was above and beyond the call of duty for customer service. He is a very nice man and I would give his store another try.

Rude and very unhelpful. I walked in asking for stocking stuffer ideas for my percussionist nephew who plays drums, marimba, quints, etc, and he gestures and says, "well, I have what I have..." and gestures at a wall full of pieces and parts. Did not want to help us and seemed put out that I disturbed him during his cell phone time. When I asked if that had any ornaments or things he said "go next door." Wow! I will not spend another...

I cannot say enough goods things about this store. I just moved to Alvarado in the last year and so I frequently find things I need in Burleson. On one of these trips I was searching for some musical equipment and lucked into Tarpleys shop right next to Hobby Lobby. I was immediately greeted by a gentleman named Phillip and had such a nice experience learning from him and getting some expert advice. He was very kind and patient with my children in the store also which is such a relief to this busy homeschooling mom. I have been back myself a few times to buy some amazing instruments and supplies and recommend them for any of your musical needs.
