I had a bad experience with the staff at this library (excluding Ms. Cadenhead). I’m a student at the University of North Texas and had reserved a conference room for a final project presentation from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. I showed up an hour early to set up and check equipment. When I arrived, I was told the room was actually reserved until 5:00 pm by someone else. No big deal, right? Until the group didn't leave on time. The staff showed no professionalism regarding reservations and lacked empathy for my situation. I was told "I'll just have to wait."
My family and I were forced to sit in the library until after 5:30 pm before finally getting into the room. Once inside, the projector didn’t work with my Mac. It was only compatible with Windows, which is why I arrived an hour early and even mentioned this to the staff. I tried connecting via Wi-Fi, but there was no signal, so I couldn’t share my screen. With my family already being frustrated from waiting, I ended up giving my presentation while seated at my laptop, with everyone crowded around me.
Now I’m stuck with a video that doesn’t meet the assignment’s requirements. It’s frustrating, and honestly, this was a waste of time. I won’t be using this library for any future events. Very...
Read moreI love the library but I have a couple of issues. I like that I can save books that I want to read to a private list. So I have a list for romance and and another for mystery thrillers arranged in media format for example have a list for ebook romance under my account. Here's the problem. There is no way to sort my list by author which is aggravating. If I have an author that I really like and would like to read more in their series, I have to go through the whole list of 200 titles looking for that author. I have already emailed about this issue and suggestion and nothing has changed. The other issue I have is that children are allowed to run around and scream their heads off while their parent is standing right there. The library is a place where people read and study. I was trying to read the back of a book and this three-year-old kid was running around screaming climbing on things. I'm only in the library once or twice a week and this happens quite often. The library staff said nothing to the parent. There should be a big sign when you're walking into the library that says QUIET PLEASE. It is...
Read moreThis place is great and the staff is super helpful and so nice and welcoming. They have a nice selection of everything from books, magazines, audio book, DVD's, adult coloring, and computers for public use. New and old as you'd expect, but it was just so clean and organized with plenty of space between aisles and not super crowded together. The computers were easy to get onto and use, the kids play area was nice and clean, and there was plenty of things offered for the kids from toddlers to teen events like book reading, crafts, teen lounge, teen cooking, anime club, beyblade club and a homeschoolers art class. There's plenty of parking, and the bathrooms are...
