2024: Attractive ad for shake flavor and merely two cars in drive-thru made me give this place a 3rd try. 18 minutes! Also, not that good-- shake has an icy consistency, not so creamy.
2022: Update after a few years: circumstance compelled another foray that confirmed this is still the slowest, most lackluster service in town, and the food quality isn't superior to competitors. After a half-hour wait (oh, they ran a p.o.sale immediately) in a locked double-drive-thru, I finally received my lukewarm, correct-adjacent order.
2018-ish: So the building was replaced. The service is terrible, the food is bad, and the traffic is a mess. My child received a reward voucher from school-- I wouldn't have done this otherwise-- so I spent a literal hour in the drive thru line. The line extended well into traffic on TX-174 because the drive thru impedes its own flow-- the entrance and exit trip over each other because the lot was poured such that the exiting cars intersect the line again! I eventually ordered three burger combos and a chicken nugget kids meal, paid, and was sent to park and wait further as subsequent customers were served their bags of food behind me. No one thought to open the second lane until about 10 minutes later. I called after 15 minutes to check on my order and was told to keep waiting because they're just so busy. I went inside to find that my family's dinner had been abandoned at the window, forgotten. After 75 total minutes from entering the drive thru line to walking inside for my food, I asked for a comp or remake of the now-cold food, but night manager Josh refused. I asked for a discount or free shake. Refused. Future coupon. Refused. However, in the midst of crisis-level busy-ness, he gave me an unsolicited lecture on how his kitchen runs (not well!) and how he's very much in charge (yikes!). I've managed a quick serve restaurant, and this "style" of management will ruin a place by either inefficiency or repelling customers. I hope the owners, senior management, and corporate take an interest in their new facility's operations. And staffing. And this review. At home with the cold, haste-sloppy food, we still clearly tasted freezer...
Read moreI stopped by this restaurant at 547 SW Wilshire Blvd. Burleson, TX on my way to Waco. Got there at 9:28 am. Ordered a #24 and a Buffalo Ranch Chix sandwich meal. After waiting about 15 min and 3 people had brought their order back to be remade I decided to step over by the counter and watch the employees that were making the orders and see how mine was coming along. 10 more minutes go by and they bring mine. Just as I thought, cold! Gave it back and asked for a REMAKE. As , I'm standing there watching and waiting a man brings his burger back. He says, he ordered mayo and it had mustard. The REMAKE of the sandwich was simply grab a napkin and wipe the mustard off and spread some mayo on it leaving traces of the mustard still on it. SMH! If that don't beat all! REMAKE! In the meantime my O- Rings come back hot, no sandwiches. I see a couple of chix patties being tossed from the other side of the counter to this Sandwich REMAKE Artist! There they sit on the counter, no heat for the next 10-15 min. Another customer and I bet she would use these and sure enough there those Flying Chix Patties go to unsuspecting customers in the lobby dining in. Finally, around 10:15 I get my sandwiches to go with my O- Rings, OH, wait I already ate those while waiting. I don't want anyone to get in trouble. I do appreciate the 2 lady managers there that took care of the situation promptly, that place must get hit hard pretty often. I've been a fast food manager at Backyard Burgers, Subway, Dairy Queen and been a waitress at the Holiday Inn, catered weddings and catered many events at Baylor University even when George Bush was president. All I'm saying is when it comes to the food business and customer service there are standards. Food safety awareness, sanitary precautions, rules, cleanliness, etc. So, just make sure you put your best employees up front. Ones that want to work and actually care about food safety. Thank you to the two managers and to the cashier Nicolette. Ya'll were very helpful! I did get my money back and a delicious vanilla shake. I'm not sure I'll be dining here again. Oh yeah I finally made it out of...
Read moreWaited in line drive thru line today for almost one hour. I placed my order and paid and quickly received my drinks. 30 minutes later and both lines haven’t moved. I call and ask to speak to the manager. It was obvious that he didn’t care. I know no one likes a complaint call but take a class in basic customer service and positive responsive communication. He gave all the excuses - shorthanded and only has 5 workers to push through a $1000 worth of food, drive thru is running 27 mins per order (which is ridiculously long for fast food as well as inaccurate), and they are doing the best they can. But he never even tried to exhibit any basic level of customer service. His tone was all exhausted ‘what do you want’ and was clearly geared to get off the phone without giving up anything. I gave them another 10 minutes to get my three food items. They never came and when I asked the worker that finally came outside if there was a hold up in the kitchen he said the food was coming. Then they started giving people food in the 4 cars behind me immediately after. The manager offered nothing. No refund and never came outside to apologize. Clearly fine with providing poor customer service and leave his workers hanging out to deal with the public. Meanwhile, inside the building people that walked in while I was in line and after have received and finished their meals. I have lived here for almost two decades and hate to say because Whataburger is a Texas institution it but I will not be returning to this location. Zero Stars. Would not recommend. No complaints about the workers - polite and busy. Just...
