LOLA Wines — Attraction in Calistoga

We had such a lovely and authentic experience at Lola. It’s a charming and inviting place that welcomes you in, and then friendly folks take over and you become part of the family as you taste and learn about their wines and process from growing/pruning in select vineyards to how they barrel and bottle for what they are achieving. Seth, Rafa and Marley make you feel welcome and a part of a close knit family. Rafa’s art and creative expression is evident everywhere you look and turn in this charming place. It’s rare to walk in to such a place in Napa Valley in these times of the large/opulent/statement projects that are impressive but not as authentic as the experience you can have if your are lucky to sit down in the same room as the growers, winemaker, and proprietors of a label that they are happy to share in their own genuine way one on one. The wines are great, with some unique but appealing characteristics that set them apart and make them the ones you want to open at home with food and friends. This is a family run boutique winery with a cute and comfortable tasting house located in Calistoga. When you walk into the house you feel like you are truly at home with LOLA. Cozy up next to the quaint fireplace. Enjoy a glass or a tasting of their unique and thoughtfully crafted wines. You are likely being poured by one of the family members of Seth Cripe, the winemaker. Often Seth himself will come into the LOLA house to hang out and pour tastings, which is a very amazing experience. If you are REALLY lucky Lola (the dog and real boss) will be there to greet you at your visit. When you take a sip of LOLA you truly experience the love and pride that has gone into the production of this wine. This is a one of a kind experience for the Napa Valley.
