Did you mean: My Husband and I are currently at Hotel 🏨. We arrived yesterday May 7th 2024 our 40th wedding 💒 anniversary. Soon after arriving there was NO water service. The staff notified to inform that the the City of Calistoga would not come out & address the problem until the next day 5/8/2024. We woke up to still No water @ 9:am could not use the bathroom ALL night, brush our teeth 😬 or take a shower during night or early morning. I went downstairs to office at which point the Manager ask me if we would like to go their sister hotel property around the corner. Once we arrived the staff informed us that only 1 room was available for usage. This would include personal/shower usage. My husband and I waited for over an hour and still not able to shower 🚿 😩 We walk back to the Bergson Hotel at which point the water was tuned back on around 12pm. I proceeded to sterilize our bathroom with the hotels 🏨 cleaning supplies. At one point we requested ice 🧊 🤪 which we never received. SOLVING THE ISSUE 1) The Bergson said: "it's not their fault and put the blame on the City of Calistoga?
Finally:
So, I ask the public what do think about all this 😳?
Sincerely, 40th wedding anniversary Fiasco
It's not about Fault Blaming 😒, Money
Just "GOOD SERVICE "
Forgot to mention 😅 The sister hotel/inn. That we were not able to use rhe facilities after waiting for over an hour was the FREAKING...
Read moreThe Inn is a good value, at least in April. I would not pay $400-$500 if that's the rate during the high season. This is not a B&B, so don't book it if that's what you want. Some specifics: Biting flying bugs on the outside patio. Since people in Napa will tell you they don't have mosquitoes, not sure what they were, but they rendered the outside area pretty much useless in the evening. And not great that our sliding door to the outside overlooked the neighbor's house directly behind us. Not scenic! The toilet is separate from sink and shower and behind a door = good. No exhaust fan in that room = not good. Bed and pillows were either older or just not firm enough for us. Shower was great...good pressure and hot water. Breakfast was as expected...not great but it did the job. It would have been nice if the room had a ceiling fan to circulate air vs the typical and somewhat noisy unit on the wall. People at the desk in the lobby were very courteous and accommodating, but most were not able to provide any personal experience or intel on local restaurants, which we found odd and a bit frustrating. Couldn't the owner or manager provide them with appropriate intel to be able to make recommendations? The Inn is right on a road that can be busy and noisy...unless you can sleep through anything I'd suggest not booking a room closest to the road. Location is good; Calistoga is small so most can walk from the southern end (where the Bergson sits) to the northern end with no problem. There are several good restaurants and shops, but if you want to walk to dozens of each, you need to stay in Napa or Sonoma. We prefer being out of the more commercialized areas, so Calistoga is one very...
Read moreMy wife and I chose this property for our first time in Calistoga. We only did an overnight stay during the weekdays, but the following are some of the key observations from this place.
Location *Situated at the end of Lincoln avenue, where a good amount of stores are to be found, we were able to walk roundtrip from the property to CalMart (Market & Deli) in 15 minutes. *Advice: if you are to select a room, I would suggest any room besides those that are next to the busy street. *Good amount of parking on site.
Service *The staff was amazing & very friendly. *We were initially placed in their most basic room. The room that we selected was the same room info, but fireplace is outdoors. Front desk personnel working at the time of our check-in on 6/9/21 (4pm) got this sorted out right away and we switched rooms with no problem. I was even given the opportunity to check out the room ahead of time if we wanted to make sure we want to change or not.
Room *We chose to upgrade from the basic room to the next level higher which came with an in-room fireplace (electric and easy to use). *The Basic room which we got a chance to see up to the time we switched rooms, was a bit cramped. The room with a fireplace is bigger, more spread out, bathroom is further away from the bed location than basic room and bathroom sink is inside the bathroom not outside. *DirectTV is used for TV entertainment. Most channels are available. *Bathroom had products from Loccitane brand which included hand soap, shower body gel, shampoo and conditioner.
Overall, The Bergson is a place I'd recommend for first-time and...
